GUILFORD – Maxine C. Tripp, 97, died Oct. 30, 2009, surrounded by her family at Mayo Regional Hospital, Dover-Foxcroft. She was born Oct. 19, 1912, in Guilford, daughter of Riley and Edna (Rollins) Campbell. She worked for several years at Hardwood Products Co., Guilford. Maxine and her husband, Buster, owned and operated Tripp’s Sporting Goods Store and Gold Nugget Restaurant, Guilford, for many years, and later she worked for the Ben Franklin Store, Guilford. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and was on the advisory board for the Rainbow Girls. She was a charter member of Pythian Sisters, Abbot, and a member of Guilford United Methodist Church. For the past few years Maxine enjoyed her time at Pleasant Meadows, Dover-Foxcroft, where she made many friends. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Beverly and Rodney Edgerly of Guilford and Lorinda and Clinton Cushman of Hodgdon; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Campbell of Guilford; four grandchildren and their spouses, Randy and Darlene Edgerly of Guilford, Ronda and Shane Crouse of Sangerville, Daphne and Bob Nason of Houlton and Kenny and Tracy Cushman of Florida; eight great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth “Buster” Tripp in 1971; a great-grandson, Ben; three sisters and two brothers. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at Crosby & Neal, 21 Oak St., Guilford. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Guilford United Methodist Church with Pastor Stephen Dean officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Guilford.
