PORTLAND, Maine — Opening arguments begin Monday in the manslaughter trial of a Maine man charged with fatally shooting a friend last April.
Bruce Lavalle-Davidson of Skowhegan is charged killing 50-year-old Fred Wilson at Wilson’s home in South Portland.
Prosecutors say Lavalle-Davidson was reckless and negligent when he shot Wilson. His attorney says he didn’t know the gun was loaded and that the shooting was a tragic accident.
Jury selection was completed Friday in Cumberland County Superior Court in Portland.
