BAR HARBOR – Donald L. Brimmer, 80, died Feb. 3, 2010, at a Bangor hospital, with his family at his side. He was born July 19, 1929, in Washington, D.C., the son of Earle B. and Virgie M. (Butler) Brimmer. Don was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in the Korean War. He was a printer with the government in Washington, D.C., and a contractor in St. Petersburg, Fla. He enjoyed model trains and airplanes. Don loved being with his family and friends, and enjoyed talking about old times. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Church, Bar Harbor. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Kathleen of Bar Harbor; sons, Donald Brimmer Jr. and wife, Marilyn, of Dallas, Ga., and Christopher Brimmer and wife, Jodee, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; daughters, Donna Bishop and fiance, Joseph DaDamo, of Baltimore, Elizabeth Bahner and companion, Donald Pare, of Ocala, Fla., and Jennifer Lozano and husband, Andre, of Bar Harbor; sisters, Barbara Jepsen and Betty Lou Tucker, both of Apex, N.C.; 15 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; a son, John E. Brimmer; and brother, Douglas Brimmer. Services will be announced at a later date.
