BIDDEFORD, Maine — A historic Biddeford mill complex that’s being revitalized for commercial and residential use will be getting some prominent visitors.

U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree and the Environmental Protection Agency’s regional administrator, Curt Spaulding, plan to visit the North Dam Mill revitalization site on Monday afternoon. Pingree, a Democrat, represents Maine’s 1st District.

The 40 buildings in the complex are five-story brick structures that date to the mid-1800s. Redevelopment on some for mixed-use has been completed and is home to more then 50 businesses. In 2008, the mill also opened up residential units.

The EPA has helped with funding to restore the former industrial site.
