ORONO, Maine — Earth Day was observed in Maine.
In Orono, a group of about 30 students at the University of Maine donned green paint and nothing else to celebrate Earth Day, Thursday, April 22, 2010.
The 15-minute cycling tour – an annual event on campus – included a tour of the mall, where they received waves and a round of applause.
The first Earth Day was held on April 22, 1970.
