ORLAND – Alan S. Eaton Sr., 65, passed away July 10, 2010, surrounded by his loving family and friends at his home. He went to be with his Lord and his beloved wife, Deanna. Alan was born Oct. 21, 1944, in New York. He is survived by his sons, Alan S. Eaton Jr. and Ruth Ann, Anthony Stinson and Katie, and Aaron Stinson and Gail; daughter, Rebecca Eaton; several grandchildren, Toya and Elena Eaton, Despe Dodge, Matthew and Abigail Stinson, Amanda, Gabriel and Cheyenne Stinson, and Isaac Grindle, whom were the joy of his life; three sisters, Marcia Lawless, Connie Wood and Ed, and Anna Snow and Berry; three brothers, Forrest Nevells and Margie, Chandler Eaton and Mary, and Howard Eaton; a special sister-in-law, Nola Donavan and Gerald; and remembered by Robert Dow. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends, including special friends, Marilyn and Gene Hurd, Arthelene Hammond, Brian Johnson and the Rosen family, whom he worked many years for. Alan was predeceased by his mother, Rosamond S. Dow, in 2004; and beloved wife, Deanna (Nevells) Eaton, in 2009. The family gives a special thanks to CancerCare of Maine, and Dr. A. Merrill Garrett, for her wonderful care. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, at Franklin Street United Methodist Church with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. Interment will be Forrest Cemetery, Stonington. Arrangements by Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, Bucksport.
