VAN BUREN – For a time, preordained in heaven, an angel that dwelt among us has been recalled into the company of the angels. Anne M. Doucette, 74, died in the early evening hours Thursday, July 8, 2010, at a Madawaska nursing home, 14 days short of her 75th birthday. She was born July 22, 1935, in Cyr Plantation, the daughter of Lucien and Artheline (Ouellette) Ouellette Sr. Anne was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and a fervent Catholic, who attended Mass weekly. Due to her illness, in later years she would listen to Mass on EWTN and received communion at home. She was a former member of Evangeline Circle, Daughters of Isabella. Anne was an accomplished seamstress and quilt maker. In earlier years she enjoyed dancing and socializing with friends and family. She is survived by her husband, Wilfred “Whitey” Doucette of Van Buren; two daughters, Cynthia A. Doucette of Orlando, Fla., and Teresa S. Madore of St. David; two brothers, Lucien Ouellette Jr. of Van Buren and Donald Ouellette of Augusta; five sisters, Stella Rowe of Bristol, Conn., Maxine Lajoie of Cyr Plantation, Therese Ouellette of Wolcott, Conn., Carmella Ouellette of Winter Park, Fla., and Joan Townsend of Salisbury, Md.; and two grandchildren, Jonathan and Olivia Madore. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one son, Charles Doucette; and by an infant daughter, Sharon. Relatives and friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 16, and 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday, July 17, at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Committal service and interment will be at the parish cemetery. Those who wish may contribute in her memory to a charity of one’s choice. To leave online condolences, please visit www.ouellettefuneralhome.com.
