MILLINOCKET and LINCOLN – Plooma D. (Quint) Mayo, 82, wife of the late Roy Mayo Sr., went to meet her family in heaven Oct. 6, 2010. She was born Sept. 20, 1928, in Old Town, the daughter of Byron and Julia (Durnford) Quint. Plooma was a graduate of Stearns High School, Class of 1946. She married Roy Mayo of Millinocket, May 3, 1948, and together they shared 52 years of marriage, and raised their family. Plooma will be missed and remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to her family. She is survived by four children, Roy Mayo Jr. and his wife, Lupita, of Chula Vista, Calif., Nancy Larkin and her husband, Richard, of Lincoln, Sherryll Wark and her husband, Ken, of Old Town, and Theresa McLellan and her husband, Bobby, of Presque Isle; two stepsisters, Helen Currie of Millinocket and Lurlene Lawton of Orlando, Fla.; a stepbrother, Clyde Folsom Jr. and his wife, Carolyn, of Hermon; two sisters-in-law, Camille Rusnak of Lynn, Mass., and Joanne Burleigh of Millinocket; grandchildren, Theresa, Tony, Thomas and Joseph Dana Mayo, Robert Cram and his wife, Maureen, Scott Cram and his wife, Chrystal, Jennifer Noble, Micah Cram and his wife, Jill, Jeff Cram and his wife, Elisha, Jarod Ambrose and Heather C., Heather McLaughlin and her husband, Jared, Mitchell Wark and his wife, Julie, David O’Clair Jr. and Stephanie, Derek O’Clair and his wife, Megan, Jason Fortine and Paige; 19 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her husband, Plooma was predeceased by her father; her mother, Julia Folsom; and her beloved stepfather, Clyde Folsom Sr. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12. Interment will be at Millinocket Cemetery.
