FAIRFIELD, Maine — Police here are investigating the shooting of a local man who was shot in the shoulder Saturday night.
Erik Powers, 20, told police two men pulled up in a white car as he was walking down the street and asked what his name was. The driver produced a revolver, shot Powers and sped away, Emery told police.
He was taken to a Waterville hospital and released the same night.
The Kennebec Journal reports that Powers was recently charged with attempting to steal several cartons of cigarettes from a convenience store.
