YORK, Maine — Police say it’s a miracle no one was seriously hurt in a chase that ended in a four-vehicle crash on the Maine Turnpike.
The Portland Press Herald reports that Kittery police were trying to stop an SUV driven by 39-year-old Timothy Williams on Friday afternoon when he got on Interstate 95 heading north. Police say he was speeding and changing lanes erratically when he sideswiped a van and rear-ended a Subaru Outback, sending it spinning into the guardrail.
The Subaru then crossed three lanes of traffic and crashed into a tractor-trailer loaded with soda.
Williams and a passenger in the Subaru were hurt but neither suffered serious injuries.
