SANGERVILLE – Edward Henry Adams, 81, husband of Jeanne A. (Wallace) Adams, died Dec. 25, 2010, at a Dexter nursing home. He was born Aug. 9, 1929, in Sangerville, the son of Lewis E. and Alice M. (Pullyard) Adams. Edward was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Korea, and a member of Abbot Evangelical Free Church. He was known as one of the strongest men in Sangerville, where he worked for many years in the woods. Edward participated in some of the last river drives. In addition to his loving wife of 43 years, Jeanne, Edward is survived by two daughters, Glenda Irrera and Sandra Robinson; three stepdaughters, Cherolyn Lexvold, Louise O’Brien and Teddie-Jayne Jacobs; three stepsons, Robert Gray Jr., Kenneth Johnston and John Johnston; two brothers, Alvin Adams and Doran Adams; two sisters, Wynona Carroll and Jackie Libby; 26 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, including a special granddaughter, and two great-grandchildren in Crete, Greece. He was predeceased by his parents; a stepson, Frederick Clark, a casualty in Vietnam; and a sister, Dolores Church. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Abbot Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Ray Beless officiating.
