GUILFORD – Kenneth E. Wharff, 86, died May 25, 2011, at a Bangor hospital after a short illness. He was born Nov. 27, 1924, in Guilford, son of Cecil and Flora (Davis) Wharff.

Kenneth served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in the South Pacific. He worked for many years at Moosehead Manufacturing Co., Monson. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going for walks, and was an avid reader. He was a member and deacon at Guilford Center Baptist Church. Ken had a positive attitude and great sense of humor; he always made you smile.

He was predeceased by his wife, Marion (Hatch) Wharff, in 2007; and two brothers, Donald and Wendell. He is survived by two sons, Michael Wharff of Guilford, and Jeffrey Wharff and his wife, Carole, and their sons, Curtis Wharff and Corey Wharff, and a great-grandson, Aiden, all of Sangerville; a daughter, Brenda Prescott and her husband, David, and their daughter, Amanda, all of Charleston; a daughter, Pamela Price-Wharff and her partner, Helen, and Pamela’s son, Tyler Cochran, and her daughter, Lillith Price-Wharff, all of Lewiston; a sister, Elaine Law and her husband, Stephen, of Dover-Foxcroft; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at Guilford Center Baptist Church with Pastor Toby Smitherman officiating. Friends may call 9 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Guilford.
