ASHLAND – Gertrude T. Beaulieu, 92, wife of the late Paul Beaulieu, died Aug. 15, 2011, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born Feb. 20, 1919, in Ashland, daughter of William and Phoebe (Pelletier) Theriault.
Gertrude was a 1939 graduate of Ashland High School.
She worked in the family business, Theriault’s Dry Goods, for a number of years. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as apartment manager for Forest View Circle Apartments, Ashland, for 21 years. She was a member of RSVP for 25 years and an honorary member of St. Mark’s Sodality for many years.
She is survived by three sons, Brent Beaulieu and wife, Sandra, of Fort Kent, Robert Beaulieu and wife, Kathi, of Ashland, and Dana Beaulieu, also of Ashland; three daughters, Elaine Wharton of Berwick, Pa., Judy Koop and husband, James Kout, of Sacramento, Calif., and Theresa Lyons and husband, Dana, of Masardis; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind two special friends, Joanne Goodblood and Al Sherkness; and all of her great and caring neighbors at Forest View Circle. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Birdena Lee, wife of William, and Addie Michaud, wife of Remie; and one infant brother.
Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, at Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Ashland. Committal service and interment will be in the parish cemetery. A gathering for family and friends will be after the burial at St. Mark’s Parish Hall.
