BANGOR – Robert R. Hamel, 72, passed away peacefully Sept. 9, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. Robert was born Oct. 27, 1938, in Bangor, son of the late Ralph and Ethel (Giggey) Hamel.
“Bobby,” as Robert was so lovingly called, loved life. He loved to dance and socialize, and was well loved no matter where he went. Bobby will be remembered as a loving brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
Bobby is survived by his siblings, Earle Hamel, Levola Craig, Cressa Garland, Ralph Hamel, Dennis Hamel, Ronald Hamel and Paul Hamel; as well as several nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. Bobby’s family thanks the Getchell Agency for all that they have done for him.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. Family and friends may visit 1 p.m. until the time of service.
