Lace up those sneakers and hit the trail Saturday, Oct. 1, to raise money for the Warren Center in Bangor, which provides speech and hearing services for adults and children.
The University of Maine’s Delta Zeta sorority Dirigo Alumni Chapter will host the third annual Hike for Hearing to raise money and awareness for speech and hearing-related illnesses.
Proceeds from the hike will benefit the Regional Hearing Aid Bank at the Warren Center, a service of Penobscot Community Health Care. The hearing aid bank provides hearing aids to individuals who would otherwise be unable to afford one. A similar event last year raised more than $400 for the program.
The hike will commence at 2 p.m. at the Orono Land Trust trail head behind Orono High School. Registration is $10 per person or $30 for a team of five. For more information or to help sponsor the hike, email hikeforhearing@gmail.com.
