CONCORD, N.H. — A New Hampshire woman who prosecutors said was so preoccupied with her cellphone conversations that she didn’t see didn’t see two pedestrians until she hit them with her car has been sentenced to 1½ to 3 years in prison.

Lynn Dion, 44, of Franklin was sentenced in Merrimack County Superior Court.

She was convicted in July of negligent homicide for hitting 36-year-old Genny Bassett, a mother of four who was struck while crossing a street in Franklin with a friend in June 2009. She died three weeks later.

Dion remains free until the appeals process is over.
