PHIPPSBURG, Maine — Representatives from the Maine Department of Marine Resources will meet with members of the Phippsburg and Georgetown Shellfish Conservation commissions Wednesday to discuss plans for protecting shellfish in the Kennebec River.

The Kennebec River Management Plan will be the focus of the discussion, which is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Totman Library at 28 Parker Head Road in Phippsburg. Shellfish harvesters and the general public are invited, though parking is limited. Attendees are asked to park at the Phippsburg Town Hall at 1042 Main Road and carpool to the library.
