LEBANON, Maine — State authorities are still waiting for chemist reports to identify the substance being made in what appeared to be a makeshift drug lab discovered at a Bigelow Road home on Saturday.
Steve McCausland, a spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said he had not received any new information Monday regarding the investigation.
A man from the Augusta area was arrested Saturday after law enforcement officials discovered what they believed to be a drug manufacturing lab in the basement of a residence at 25 Bigelow Road.
Homeowner Deborah Wilson called police after she reportedly found the lab in the basement of her home, McCausland said in a news release. Wilson told officials she had allowed 41-year-old Aaron Lowden, described as homeless, to stay in her basement.
The sheriff’s office and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency discovered a Coleman stove, beakers and glass tubes.
Lowden was arrested on a bail violation and is being held at York County Jail.
According to the release, Lowden will face drug manufacturing charges once it is determined what was being manufactured.
