AUGUSTA, Maine — Gov. Paul LePage delivers his first State of the State address this week.
Tuesday night’s speech before a joint House-Senate session will be aired statewide. It will be LePage’s first State of the State address since he was inaugurated a little over a year ago.
The Republican governor’s address to the state comes amid of a $221 million state budget shortfall and an economy that shows no promise of regaining strength in the immediate future.
Exactly what the theme of his speech will be isn’t clear, but he’s likely to touch on some of his priority issues for the year including energy and education.

Serving up cold baloney
Just like Baldacci serves up rotten spaghetti to the Maine people every time he raised our taxes, borrowed more money to expand the amount of folks on Welfare benefits.
If you remember, Le Page did exactly the same thing in Millinocket as Baldacci did in Old Town, only on a much larger scale. Welfare benefits includes corporate welfare.
Nice try with the corporate welfare foolishness. You don’t see LePage kicking the can down the road and give the work to other people to do in the future. The Liberals including King and Baldacci for 40 years have refused to do anything to get Welfare under control . They have destroyed our economy , drove out all working people including young folks, they have created a nanny state which you can’t do anything without being fined for it. They destoyed our schools to the point where 75% of them are failing our teachers are nothing more than Democrat activists. Our roads are pathetic you always hitting massive potholes and doing damage to the cars. They talk about shared sacrifice, shared prosperity , taxing everyone blah blah blah. They are bad for Maine and America they would rather have us dirt poor while them, the welfare crowd and their special interest friends are laughing all the way to the bank.
Whats driven our youth out of Maine is the dismal wages that Maine employers “offer”. Lepage reminds me of the boss you ask for a %4 annual wage increase who then crys poverty as he packs up his Caddy to head down to his cottage on the ocean where he keeps his 40ft. sailboat tied up. What has created the “nanny state” you refer to is low wages left in the dust of skyrocketing productivity. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer, which is exactly how Lepage and his minions like it.
Excellent point, Craftsman … and it’s not just LePenguin’s “minions” — it’s his backers and the Koch brothers, and ALEC and the Maine Heritage Policy Foundation. “Divide and Conquer” — that’s their game and they play it with three shells and a pea on a portable table so they can get out of town quickly!
I think the local pharmacy has a good supply of Chill Pills, darkcat33 .. you ought to think seriously about getting a supply before you have to type that hateful word “welfare” again!
Maine doesn’t have anything called “Welfare”. The term is a slur. We have people who seek and receive “public assistance”. The public assistance isn’t based on state lawmakers. Such assistance is written into the international treaties around the world and the U.S. signed on to those treaties. The idea is that people will have dignity in retirement, never be in such debt that they can’t pay it in a reasonable period of time, are considered and treated innocent unless and until proven otherwise. The list goes on. But I strongly recommend reading up on “Human Rights”. This state at least is becoming the HAMAS and TALIBAN of America. Hx: Iran never signed onto the treaty because they were unwilling to stop abusing their women.
“The Liberals including King and Baldacci for 40 years have refused to do anything to get Welfare under control . They have destroyed our economy , drove out all working people including young folks…”
UR N IDGIT, first, Maine isn’t big enough per capita to destroy its own economy. We are under 2 million souls. Second, McKernan was the governor 20 years ago, and he was/is married to one of the richest republican senators ever known in the state of Maine. He enticed businesses to come to maine, take over Maine industries, including mills, and close them to eliminate them as competition. That sweetie is when the real slide started and never stopped.
But you don’t really want to know anything based on it’s truth, you just want to support sttupity and wear people like me out.
Dinkcat, you know…Baldacci isn’t running for office. He works in Washington on the Intelligence Commission and Military High Command alongside Olympia Snowe. I’d back down off him if I were you.
For an exclusive sneak peak of what his speech will be like

You couldn’t pay me to listen to that fool.
Prep ?!…more like perp.
OK, that was mean…what he’s really doing is practicing the Col. Nathan Jessup snarl in the mirror.
Give ’em Hell Guvnah!
To realize Real savings ALL state employees, positions, and programs,
including the “quasi’s” need to be reviewed for purpose, and effectiveness.
Then CUT about 20% of them. Balance the budget to a level of what is Needed, Not wanted.
Start looking here, then offer a proposal or the Guvnah will do it as he was voted in to do.
MaineOpenGov.org
I bet he’s being paid to advertise a specific brand of political thinking, the one that identify’s chaos and confusion and feels that poor people are non citizens and don’t really matter because they all lie.
He sure is turning the state in one hell of a mess, that is what you meant:)
Isn’t that the same smirk we saw on his face last week when he told folks in Lewiston that if he didn’t the DHHS cuts he wanted against the poor, mentally and physically ill, and elderly he would go after our children’s education? Yep, I think it is. Shameless!
The cat that ate the canary.
A more accurate statement is, “If we don’t cut DHHS, there will be NO MONEY for education.” If you’re against cutting welfare, then you must support transferring funds from education to feed the growing welfare monster? If this is not the case, then what cuts do you propose? Surely, you liberals must have solutions? Of course, we haven’t seen any solutions from you liberals in the past 8 years. All we see is criticism. Go Governor LePage!
But there will ALWAYS be tax cuts for those rich folks in Maine that Paul says don’t exist but have estates valued over 2 million bucks! I guess it all comes down to WHAT you value and WHO you want to help out the most. You side with your man and his friends here, I’ll continue my efforts to help people I can actually afford to call my neighbors.
Are you saying a single income earner of $19,500 and a couple who makes $39,000 are rich?
We pay for 357 State salaries over $100,000.
This doesn’t count Education, and other government funded “quasi’s”
Something is wrong in this “welfare state”.

Check out MaineOpenGov.org. AKA the Maine Heritage Foundation. Charlie Webster will be pooping his pants if you visit this site.
That site appears to be a phishing operation. It requires your email address to view materials.
Ya, I noticed that, I’m surprised that they don’t ask for a donation.
I think there’s a place on the site where you can electronically donate.
your brain to science if you think these guys are anything but a PAC for collosall business interests!
That’s a red herring. When you visit the site it records your IP address before your page even loads. They’re making a list and checking it twice.
MaineOpenGov.org is nothing but a pack of lies and fabrication. They would have no idea what the truth is if it hit them in the face.
Actually it is more like “Fantasyland” at Disney. Only in a post office box.
Well I guess you just can’t handle the Truth.
I have checked out Many of the payroll individuals and verified them to be Absolutely Correct. (I have an Inside connection)
I have also come to the conclusion that we have WAY too many on the tax dole.
C – U – T, CUT !
“Well I guess you just can’t handle the Truth.”
I’d like to verify this inside connection for myself. You know how gossip can be. It starts out one way and ends up completely different. So why don’t you post the name and title of your friend and the best time to contact him/her along with a phone number and I’ll verify it. I’m not going to decide one way or the other about the veracity of your claim until I am able to contact this inside person and take their statement.
Hey Mo……Yer funny !! ;<)
And you remind me of that skeleton puppet on late night TV. I’m glad you still have a sense of humor.
Hey Mo, seriously though,
I’m honestly as much of a Flag Wavin’, 2nd Ammendment, Constitutional Voting American as the next guy.
I guess my question to you is Why do I pose as such a threat to *anything* which you have said?
Your last post about. “handling the truth”. and not getting caught up in the *gossip* bandwagon, I Totally agree with !
It reminds me of a quote from the late, great Pres. Ronald Reagan…
“TRUST BUT VERIFY.”
IF more people applied that bit of wisdom to Half of the stuff we get wound up about on these political forums, then ALOT of problems would be solved Much faster.
BUT,,,That’s just My $2 worth.
So Mr. MoRees, what do ya’ think ?
Can we still be “Friends”?
I sure hope so,,, cause’ I Love ya’ man !!
TTYL ! Peace Out ! 357MagMan ;<)
p.s.,,My Homeland Security is secured in my hip holster,,, loaded and in condition 1 ! Ready to Rock & Roll !!!
"HAPPINESS IS A WARM GUN" The Beatles 1969
I’m ready too. I think we’re going to have a different kind of war in the not too distant future. Pray to God you aren’t the one sent to confiscate my guns. I don’t make a very good commie because my achievements in life wouldn’t have been possible or valued in a communist state. I am, for the first time in my life, horrified by what I see going on in Maine and throughout these United States. I’m not promising anyone anything. If you are smart enough to fall in behind me and close ranks I will appreciate you to no end.
It might have sounded nice to have a governor with French heritage who’s first language was not English. But the sexiness has worn off. He’s got to go. We have too much real business to deal with to waste our time on doing this, so we just need to friggin’ do it and get back to business.
Interesting, because I am on there and the information about me could not be farther from the truth. Acoordingto what they list for my pension benefits, I have to live another 250 years to collect it. AsI said it’ all just a bunch of made up stuff to satisfy LePage’s agenda.
You mean if someone makes over $100k they are eligible for welfare. Easy on the tea it has been known to cause problems in cutting and pasting.
As I remember Mr Lepage was soooo discouraged when he attempted to set up his cabinet. State law prevented him from paying them the salaries they demanded to work in state government. I would suggest you take a closer look at how they derived the 100,000 figure. Willing to bet there is a little smoke and mirror going on.
“A more accurate statement is, ‘If we don’t cut DHHS, there will be NO MONEY for education.’ ”
That may be a more accurate statement. Too bad Gov. LePage didn’t use it. What Gov. LePage said was if the $221 million hole in the DHHS wasn’t plugged he would close the schools on April 1st.
He should say in his speech he is going to shut state government down soon if they don’t make these cuts that is what he should do. The Libs are in denial about the problems in Augusta their is no more money for these programs. These cuts should have been made 30 years ago. The Libs are worried if the cuts are made they are going to lose even more seats boo hoo. Time to cut all waste from cutting Welfare to all including ending Dirigo this year.
You are correct, there is no money the gov. gave $200 million in tax break to the people that fund him, that darkcat33 is where the money has gone!
If the governor shuts down the state none of the executive branch employees are subordinate to him. The people in County Jails and Mental Hospitals will have nobody to care for them. The courts and law enforcement will close their doors. Am I going to fast for you? I think at least one of those people in custody pledged to get free and kill him. It was more graphic than that and he wasn’t the only one making a credible threat, but it makes his point, not that I disagree with them, but it got one of them in trouble in jail.
This kind of a move could never be conducted by anyone as ignorant as LePage. It’s extremely high stakes BINGO. Two things could happen. ANY other state or country in the world could lay claim to unorganized territory and annex Maine into their protectorates. Or the governor could give in to all the demands of the MSEA SEIU who by the way will not be so delicate and forgiving as they have been for this fng skrewbvall guvnah and his tarrded lackies.
Thank God for our Few Good Men

HOOAH Brothah !
Lock & Load!
Ah gosh it stopped to soon. I liked the part that you didn’t show where they advise him of his rights and he is placed under arrest. Typical tea party always using criminals to make a point.
That youtube shot could have been Nancy Pelosi or Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
Oh, this is going to be good. I can hardly wait for comedy hour. Every time this goon gets a mike in front of his face he screws up royally. I bet the republican party is scared to death about what he will say that is not in his written speech that K. Raye most likely wrote.
What is sad is that a lot of things that are being attempted need to be addressed. The problem is this guy and the method HE would take is so hatefull and harmfull.
Go after the very staff at state level, the amount of legislators, amount of senators, all their benifits and the special interest friends. You would at least double the savings with the stroke of a pen.
I’m not sure your post warrants a response, but since you sound genuinely interested in the topic and completely clueless I thought I’d hop in and try to help. All agencies of the State of Maine are UNDERSTAFFED. Nobody can afford to lose even one more coworker that will not be replaced for at least 2 years. I personally have had way more than enough of people like you. I’m working on moving to a state that pays a living wage and isn’t being run by knuckle dragging, mouth breathing, big money bictchez.
….
If the content of his speech can be predicted based on previous comments, I think we can expect to hear:
1. There are no rich people in Maine; so therefore we need to cut their taxes.
2. Maine is a terrible place for business, and he wants to the world to know it! But we are “Open for Business” anyway.
3. Maine workers are undertrained and lazy, but we if we cut our electricity rates, businesses will flock here anyway.
4. Conservation is a Ponzi scheme.
5. Eagles don’t pay taxes.
6. The mural was too one-sided. Oops, strike that. The content of the mural is fine, but the way it was funded bothers him, so it has to be kept in a closet, which somehow makes it a more effective use of taxpayer money.
7. He likes bearded women.
8. He doesn’t like special interests, but when it comes to oil vs. natural gas, he’ll side with gas.
9. Our students should forget about college and learn how to use a wrench.
10. Our teachers care more about their contracts than kids.
11. If he doesn’t get his way, he will close schools.
12. We have no data to support the extent to which it exists, but welfare fraud is ruining us. Ditto election fraud. Ditto renewable energy.
13. Maine has plenty of jobs and not enough workers, but we need to gut regulations and cut taxes so that we can have more jobs.
Impressive.
Will his Interpreter-In-Chief Ms. Bennett do a folo explaining to us poor left wing Liberals what he really meant to say?
After a year of this rogue’s acidity I’d almost forgotten some of his repulsive explosions. Telling the president to go to – you know? Which he never did. Instead, he chose to hide behind his laptop when he went to DC. Absurdly telling the NAACP to kiss his – you know what?
This is how governors are expected to represent the people of Maine?
His threats are even worse. Telling a reporter he would knock his head off for asking the wrong question, is a typical teapublican response to the press. Whilst Newt didn’t threaten physical assault after facing a question about his “open” marriage, he indicated that only proper questions should be asked. The “propriety” to be decided beforehand, just like with teapublican Le Page by the elected officials.
His most recent threat – to close all schools unless he gets his way to shut down help for 68,000 people dependent on federal and state financed health care, is perhaps his worst threat to date. Undoubtedly, he will have more during the next three years, unless he is censured or impeached. He obviously needs help or some of counseling or guidance to help him put his bad childhood behind him. Can you ever imagine this guy chairing a meeting of the board at Marden’s? These 68,000 Mainers are not to blame, anymore than us left wing Liberals.
Perhaps Ms Bennett can help.
Sounds like something someone I once married said, his way or the highway, and he convinced a judge to side with his story, before a hearing could be held. Some system.
Same slogan I heard about Macintosh lately. No wonder IBM compatible machines and Microsoft took the business market. Too bad there is more malicious code designed for them. Can’t win.
Open source, open to solutions, and open to issues…..
How about one of each?
To realize Real savings ALL state employees, positions, and programs,

Now, let’s make sure that everyone knows that his link is sponsored by the Maine Heritage Foundation. It’s not even worth reading.
Wrong, wrong, wrong rusjan. I beg to differ. Everyone should take the time to read all the offerings from The Grand Wizard and his clan of highly paid political operatives at Maine’s version of the Politboro, Maine Heritage Policy Center. Everyone needs to keep abreast of what the Grand Wizard and his minions are selling be it videos from a known criminal, the rantings from Crazy Charlie or Lockstep Charlie Summers most recent attack on Maine’s voting system. Take the time to read their “News” on the fantasy news report “Mainewire”.
“To realize Real savings ALL state employees, positions, and programs,
including the “quasi’s” need to be reviewed for purpose, and effectiveness.
Then CUT about 20% of them.”
Somebody ought to take you for a ride. How about a nice warm bowl of your entrails? In a macro economy there are no “Real saving”. It’s more important that the money keep flowing with steadily increasing speed without loss of value via inflation. Who the H311 do you think you are taking a random potshot at state employees. You are completely ignorant to the dynamics of managing a state workforce. You should pray to be publicly flogged. Lame LePage is literally the guy who signs all state employee paychecks. He is their employer. If I had an employer that treated me and my coworkers like that a horse would find his head in bed with it.By the way. Grow up.
Off your meds . . . Again?
Neah, he just needs more medication to help his mind work with his feet. Is he a sick man or not:) Three more years and then maybe we will get out mural back and some real hope for the people of Maine. Oh, where are all the job the governor promised except not counting in Daughter which cost the state with her salary, room and board and health coverage a small cost to us in the amount of $75, 312. a year, not bad for a clerk with not skills. Make Sense??
The state of our great State is much better than it was under prior the “occupation” !
At least now we have someone who has the gumption to do what hasn’t been done in a long time, stop the stupid debt spending and bond borrowing and all that other foolishness that we were
addicted to for 8 long years.
Go for it Governator !! Clean House and Take care of “bidness” !
4 More Years !!! Peace out !!! 357 ;<)
I once swore an oath to protect this country from all enemies foreign and domestic, I have never been un-sworn. I consider the tea-party to be a domestic enemy of the United States of America. The State of Maine does need not out of state influence from radical Tea Partiers.
Thank you for your service. You sound like a true patriot.
You sir, in my opinion, have a perverted interpretation of the oath.
I took the same oath and don’t see it that way at all.
If you had kept your oath you wouldn’t have come home alive.
Don’t you know you government employee welfare leeches are using up our air and filling up our space for no good reason other than you’re selfish? Aren’t you the guys that created Ghettos?? Aren’t those same Ghettos the ones that started gang violence over drugs in poverty stricken public housing neighborhoods? Isn’t that the exact same gang violence and substance abuse that is destroying the American family and America? You say you swore to defend this country from all enemies foreign and domestic. You have become an enemy of this country. Think that one over hard boy. Yeah, I said boy. You are an enemy of this country, now do your frikkin’ duty. You use a greater percentage of welfare and other government funded resources paid for by the taxpayers than anyone else, and tell me about feeling entitled. “I served my country and now it owes me everything”. You know all too well that you only joined the military because you were too incompetent and undisciplined to go get a frikkin’ job.Now you’re trying to corrupt junker207 who took his oath and still references it today.
If you only knew.
Whatahtool.
You and your friends say this about state employees. Do you really think they have it any better?
Several Members of the Legislator AND Governor Lepage made an Oath to uphold the Constitution of the State of Maine.
In that Constitution there is a provision Article (9) Section (9), Stateing that the legislature shall not in any manner suspend or surrender the power of Taxation.
They also signed the Grover Norquist Tax Pledge surrendering their power of Taxation to the citezens of Maine.
It is time for them all to go!
First,,,, junker207, I am deeply grateful for your service to our country.
You are truly one of Many Heroes that we as a Nation are Blessed to have led the fight
against Tyranny and Injustice.
I Sincerly mean what I’ve just said !!! Thank you Sir…Very Much.
2nd,,, FYI… junker207,,,
a… There are Currently 40 Nationally recognised Political Parties in existance.
b… Also, 30 seperate parties form state to State recognised.
c… And Finally, 67 Former parties through the history of these great United States of America.
3rd… The on going process of politics, as they are now, are the American way of becoming what no other nation on earth has the freedoms or liberties to practice and enjoy on a daily basis. The Leader of the free world of all that is true and righteous.
Unfortunately, to many of “US” are either to complacent or just plain lazy to exercise these freedoms that are self evident.
We must not give up the good fight and continue on with honest and open debate, albeit at times it is a bit tongue in cheek.
However, I too as a Citizen of this great land of ours, abide by the oath of The Constitution of the USA and equally important The Bill of Rights, so WE are in the battle together and I am right by your side prepared to ultimately win against those who are out to destroy what many such as yourself have given to uphold and protect.
May God Bless You and Yours and God Bless The USA !!!
Sincerly, 357magman
These guys, like 357 MadMan and JJ Humperdink are enemy combatants. I get shocked afresh with their beguiling fained idiocy. Where is Homeland Security and why aren’t they doing anything about these DMWs? I’d be happy to hunt them down and put them on a PT boat to Guantanamo.
The shock held me in a state of disbelief until I began uncovering their felonies and human rights abuses. These people have already gone over the line, beyond the point of no return. There is no excuse to do anything with them besides hang them ASAP. All the damage they can do the rest of us is gravy in their sick little minds. They see themselves as the divine wind bringing the wrath of God through jihad against America. They are the American Hamas, the U.S. Taliban, the suicide bombers of social engineering.
And I don’t like them.
BLAH…BLAH…BLAH !!!!!!!!!
Hey MoRees,,,,you are sounding like a a Commie, facist, nut lovin’ radical !
I hope you don’t hate the USA Constitution & the Bill of Rights !!
Peace Out .<)
Oh Well ?
And I’m not. I swore to defend this country against all enemies, foreign and domestic. You and the rest of the bunch on this blog trying to foment war are all enemy combatants. You have no human rights. You made that choice on your own. Good night.
I hope you pick up a book or read online about Human Rights. The Constitution and Bill of Rights aren’t the only founding or guiding documents. I’m not kidding. Don’t waste my time or anybody elses until you’ve done your homework. It’ll only take 2 or 3 hours to read enough to know what you’re talking about. Then you’ll see your mistake.
Hey Mo, where’s Larry and Curly?
Your sacred what? LMFAO. You’re a solicitor. There ought to be a law against you. You are the American Taliban. We’re going to find you and we’re going to take care of you because you are an enemy combatant. Not only are you an enemy combatant, but your war crimes do not fall under the Geneva Convention. So we’re gonna be asking you some serious question, and we’re gonna believe the answers when we are entirely convinced you’ve provided us with the whole truth. You think that’s funny!!!
I do believe that a reasonable judge could conclude that Governor Lapage and all the Legislatures that signed the Grover Norquist Tax Pledge are engaging in a Conspiracy to Derail the State of Maine by way of defunding it. This is Contrary to Article (9) Section (9) of the Maine State Constitution which says, {The Legislature shall never in any manner suspend or surrender the power of Taxation.} List of possible conspirators http://s3.amazonaws.com/atrfil… Its time for someone to contest the pledge as unconstitutional!
Medic needed here:)
whats yer problem???
“Medic” is like when a sea gull gets clipped by a hawk on a beautiful sunny day on a beach where people are collectively spending millions of dollars a day just to be there. The medic is the guy that shows up to collect the terminally injured sea gull and take it away for, uhm…. medic treatment (also known as a shovel over the head and a toll into the trash can).
WHO CARES ?
“Medic needed here:)” – Sugarwhiskey
It sounded like you cared what “Medic” on a blog meant. You would be the seagull.
dITTO !!!!!
— no more bond borrowing — this only equates to no more work on our highway system or the needed infrastructure improvements —great way to encourage new business. Bet they will come to Maine where we are going to let our highway system deterioate and not expand and we will not modernize and expand our sewer and water infrastructure needed for business expansion and growth.
Take a look for yourself on following Maine gov websight and explain then just how you propose to improve our overall Debt issue while “Borrowing” $$$ like a drunken sailor ?

Country, it also needs to be mentioned that, courtesy of Susie Collins, we now have those 100K + truck’s out on I-95 now. If the roads were screwed up before, without them on the road’s, what’s their being on them now going to do to them and their eventual maintenance ? Open for business is now gonna require a KW or Peterbuilt with 4 x 4 at this rate !
You forgot to say “excuse me”. Pewww….what are you eating anyhow?
OH OH,,,,,,,,I made a boo boo !
Brilliant. Thank you.
Hey, if you’re so….”appaledbylepage_commie”,,,, I believe no one would argue if you were to return your Republic of Massachusettes with your comrads to eat some more sour grapes.!
and Pleeze….Stay there!!!
It’s actually the people of Maine who need to prepare for Penguin’s speech. No situation involving that man and an open microphone ever ends well. Even if the National Tea Party wrote the speech for him (which is the case).
You’ve got a point. He’ll find a way to distract viewers from the horrible sickness spreading through this country like a wildfire sponsored by the corporate PACs and billionaire financial investment Fiefs. Mainers will be left with the impression that LePlague has accidentally jammed both feet in his mouth, stuffed his head up his butt, got completely out of control, and certainly this time somebody will do something about him. But your neighbors, family, friends, are all dreaming of the chance to pull the handle on the gas chamber. They’re drinking tea made of numbnuts juice fomented with bigotry, hatred, all served with a whopping helping of nice warm bull burgers.
maybe the state of the state will remind this man where he came from,I’m sure he got some public help that made the difference in his life.surely he has a heart toto
Lepage was only able to attend college because a special affirmative action program designed for him and him alone allowed him to retest after he failed to qualify.
that must be why he attacked education first, lack of one and no compassion
After some of these blogs I didn’t realize I live in amongst of such genus’ that know exactly what Governor LePage is going to make his speech about.
I know Governor LePage is doing the right thing because he isn’t making anyone happy except those who pay taxes…
Sounds like something someone once said about parenting. If the kids complain they are not allowed to do anything, the parents are probably doing their job right.
I pay taxes but can’t say I am happy with LePage. Why doesn’t he propose that MaineCare stop paying for methodone treatments? I think this is a wonderful way of saving money for Mainers. Also, better than removing 65,000 from MaineCare who have no way of buying their own health insurance.
I agree there are a lot of ways to help save this money or to create ways to help MaineCare. I ask where are the Democrats they should be suggesting rather than scaring people especially the elderly.
The last time I saw the numbers, Baldi’s DIRIGO Health cost us $70,000 per enrollee per year.
Sure seems to me the State could shut down DIRIGO and pay BC&BS premiums and spend the left over on MaineCare…
I’m calling bull.
Your number is a complete fabrication that is so far off it would be laughable, except that some very, very gullible people “liked” your comment and must have been fooled.
sad
Rather than simply blathering on about what you don’t like… Why don’t you come up with your own numbers for a change?

In the report last week from Mr LePage’s man was that Dirigo is running 40 million in the black. He will probably be asked to resign this week.
Guess your math and Mr LePage’s are not the same.
….
The Democrats have the proposed supplemental budget for nearly 90 days now what have they been doing. They have stalled and cried every chance they can get because they know they have to vote to cut programs that support their voting block. All they want to do is attack the governor who is trying to make these much needed cuts to help turn Maine around fiscally. It is time for Emily Cain, Justin Alfond, Peggy Rotundo, Cynthia Dill, John Martin better get off their lazy butts and start doing their jobs because they can always be easily replaced by much better folks.
I agree completely.
However, I fear King John, Bright & Pretty Emily, and the Portland members of your list will simply be replaced with the very same characters.
One of the obvious issues with our Republic….
The Liberals including King and Baldacci for 40 years have refused to do anything to get Welfare under control . They have destroyed our economy , drove out all working people including young folks”
Loser
The legislature has only been in session for about 3 weeks, but you want to have fools believe they’ve “had the supplemental budget ” for 90 days? Time warping are you?
In fact Lepage has not yet even issued his proposed supplemental budget!
Nice Liberal Anti-LePage Spin. The Liberals have had it for about 3 months now what have they been doing. They have done nothing now just like they had been doing for 40 years when they are in power NOTHING!!!. The Libs in Augusta know if they pass cuts which needs their votes they are toast. They are doing the same things they did in Augusta blame everyone else for their problems they created. Well LePage needs to announce Tuesday he will shut the state down Feburary 1st if they don’t do what he wants. It is time for him to pu the Liberals in their place they are useless. They want to destroy what is left of Maine’s economy so they can have Quimby’s stupid park imposed on us statewide. Well it is time to go ahead and start chopping every department the Libs loves here in Maine and cut taxes for working people and start growing our economy. That is what working Mainers put LePage and Republicans in to do. No longer make Maine a haven for Welfare Bums and moochers.
Loser
…
Whoa, whoa, whoa there Bogger1. Taxpayer here and in case you haven’t noticed I am far from happy with LePage.
So your not interested in fixing what’s wrong with the budget?
You must be wealthy or you work for the system, I don’t do either one and am very concerned about the health of Maine’s economy which if the Democrats were they would roll up their sleeves with the Republicans and be statesmen and help fix the problem rather than throw curves and scare the poor and elderly.
Gutting and fixing are two different things. And maybe if Mr LePage and crew could produce some real numbers our representatives Repub and Demo could come up with some fixes
Sorry but 35% of my weekly salary goes to taxes. And I am NOT happy with Mr LePage.
Oh you’re a liberal. Which leftist special interest group do you belong to?
Bugger, in general it is true that state employees aren’t doing their jobs unless somebody is complaining. LePage is a random accident, a train wreck plunging this state into Medieval times at record speed. He must be stopped. If you can’t see that you should probably relax and let us deal with him.
What will the new threat be, I wonder? Close the roads to non-business traffic to minimize the damage to his roads? Maybe he will shut off all electricity to non-contributors. Well, I for one will certainly watch the show Tuesday night. I love the theater. I also want to watch as the Senate majority party twist in their seats. It ought to be a good show.
The state of the state will be much better when this doofus puts his “Open for Business” sign in his rearview mirror for the last time – hopefully soon. There must be some mechanism in our constitution to accomplish this before ’14.
It’s time to stop laughing at everything this ninny says and realize that the joke is on us.
The mechanism is to go to the polls in November and to vote out every single republican.
If he replaced the “Open for business” sign with the mural, I bet more folks would pay attention and actually think, hey…these people are proud of their working class backgrounds.
I still think the going out of business sign that he originally promised to erect will be far more appropriate immediately upon his vacation of the executive director seat of the State of Maine. His message never was “Open for Business”. It was always, his personal joke fashioned by Dorsey Furniture which has been going out of business 35 years that I know of. I never used to be ashamed on the drive home until I saw that sign up, right under “Maine the Way Life Should Be”. I love to shop at Marden’s. I knew Micky Marden personally and never realized he didn’t treat his employees well. When I asked them (and I always ask, from here to Mauii, Miami, to the middle of the Pacific Ocean) how their employer was treating them they were vague at first but honest after warming up. I’ll shut up now. I hope this helped.
Looking forward to the entertainment. Someone needs to call Leno and Letterman so the whole country can have a laugh at this.
Letterman might just bite for this one. Letterman drops a watermelon the size of LePage’s head from the same building in Bangor where they dropped the New Years ball. At the same time Letterman’s oriental lacky drops a watermelon off the top of the Sears tower. The only difference will be that the LePage drop will have been hollowed out underneath with a layer of light paper and baking soda over a trough of lemon juice.
Why bother Penguin, just more lies. Where are the jobs you promised, over a year ago. Just more lies.
600 of them just flew away. You know how birds can be. Crows don’t gamble, Eagles don’t pay taxes and Penguins can’t attract jobs.
I have heard he intends to LOCK the doors to the State House during this session of which is against the law. No public or press will be allowed in the building… How does he get away with this???? What is wrong with this man? Does he think God died and left him in command? He cares little for respect or rules or laws, he does what he wants when he wants and says what he wants when he wants. Like it or lump it is his attitude…
………..You need to get new sources> It’s gonna be on TV and if they do lock the doors it’s for security of everyone. Presidential address’s are invitation only and I bet they lock the door’s there.
LePage is doing a great job and I couldn’t be happier with Maine’s new direction. I think you drink too much liberal Kool-Aid from the liberal media.
Thank you Adrienne for your comment, now take your medication and all will be well:)
“MAINE…Closed for Education”
Before long Maine will be closed to education, that’s if the DEMS continue stealing funds from the education budget to fund a Medicaid program that has grown to 35% above the national average since 2002. Under Baldacci, the DEMS did this 11 times, rather than address the bloated Medicaid entitlement expansion that occurred under their watch and encouragement. Apparently, the Democratic leadership thinks that the 1 out of 4 Mainers who receive Medicaid are either elderly or disabled. Yikes, pretty scary that we’ve got some politicians who are so out of touch with reality. We’ve got to stop the Medicaid abuse and protect Medicaid for the truly needy. LePage’s plan will do just that. Go Gov LePage!
Urine iddiott. Do you have rings around Uranus?
Oh but a sock in it LaPage and just step down, the office off Govenor is way over your head.
I think you’re talking about Baldacci, who was stumped by 2 + 2.
You mean back with Jock MeKernan was in office that all this deficit was created – or have you forgotten.
Also the beginning of the problems with the pension fund that he borrowed from to balance his budget.
Remember how Jock (republican) bold faced lied to the citizens of Maine during the gubernatorial debate with Brennan that the state was in fine economic health and that the deficit Brennan was accusing Mckernan of hiding with tricky bookkeeping tricks didnt exist??? Then right after the election ….presto….deficit. The right will say ANYTHING.Like the Nazis, they believe that if you tell a lie to enough people over and over, that eventually everyone will believe it.
“Exactly what the theme of his speech will be isn’t clear, but he’s likely to touch on some of his priority issues for the year including energy and education.”
This above quote pretty much says it all for Mr. Lepage, which he has done poorly on this past year!
…
I am quite sure this will be the biggest tall tale since Paul Bunyan, He should have be under oath before he begins his lies/speech.
Don’t worry – it was today said that if the governor does get what he wants in the budget he will first closed the schools and then send our State Police men to attack Canada and get his old home there back to him as he like living there a lot better and the people there gave him whatever he wanted:) Make Sense:)
I wonder if the teleprompter will be writing it in french?
They certainly appear to be credible talking points to me.
Most likely the most honest state of the state we have ever witnessed in Maine!

What Governor Paul needs to prepare for the inevitable trouncing that will occur in November as Maine’s voters reverse LePage’s majority in the Legislature. Many are tired of the bullying tactics used in place of governing. The ideological agenda of the Extreme is proving to be as unpopular as it is an extreme failure. As Governor Paul continues to berate, bang fists and belligerently bully others he loses more constituent consensus every day, not that people have stop listening they now laugh and shake their heads in disbelief at his lack of respect to Maine’s electorate.
To Paulie, every problem looks like a nail, and he responds like a hammerhead.
Your the reason why I am involved. You disrespectful people put us in this situation and now we have bail you out…You can’t even get my handle right MoRees
