BOSTON — His first two seasons were frustrating.

University of Maine defenseman Nick Pryor was plagued by injuries including a hip injury that required surgery, and a concussion. He also had to contend with a veteran defense corps, limiting him to 11 games.

But Pryor’s first collegiate goal was a game-winner, sophomore goalie Dan Sullivan made 38 saves and the Black Bears completed an improbable sweep of the nation’s second-ranked team, the Boston University Terriers, 3-1 on Saturday night at Agganis Arena.

Pryor’s slap shot six minutes into the second period broke a 1-1 tie and Matt Mangene added an empty-net power-play goal with five seconds left to extend Maine’s streak of scoring at least one power-play goal to 17 games.

Garrett Noonan equalized on the power play for BU in the second period but Pryor regained the lead for Maine 3:19 later directly off a faceoff win by Joey Diamond.

“It was kind of a rolling puck and I stepped into it and gave it everything I had,” said Pryor whose slap shot sailed over BU goalie Kieran Millan’s glove. “It was good to get the monkey off my back and it’s even better because it came in a victory. The most important thing is we got the win and that’s what counts.

“Having my first goal being a game-winner at BU…I couldn’t have dreamed of anything better.” added Pryor who praised Sullivan for his performance.

“It was crazy. You could tell he was in a zone. He was so confident,” said Pryor.

“He was amazing. He made unbelievable saves all night,” added junior right wing Mangene.

Sullivan, who made 14 Grade-A (high-percentage) saves among his 38,was pleased with his performance but said he got plenty of help.

“All the guys worked extremely hard in front of me and it paid off,” said Sullivan. “The forwards were back-checking to the slot and that’s where the majority of goals are scored.”

Maine coach Tim Whitehead called it a “great weekend.

“It didn’t come easy. We just kept fighting and finding ways to get the puck out of our zone and into their zone,” said Whitehead. “Tonight was even better than last night (4-2 win) because things didn’t come easy on the power play (1-for-8). So we had to find a different way to win.”

Maine improved to 14-8-3 overall, 11-7-2 in Hockey East.

Maine is now 11-2-2 in its last 15 games and 8-1-1 in its last 10 games including a sweep of Boston College and Boston University on consecutive weekends.

BU fell to 15-8-1 and 12-6-1.

It was the first time Maine has won a season series from BU since the 2003-2004 season.

The sweep catapulted Maine to a tie for 11th with Notre Dame in the Pairwise Rankings that emulate the NCAA Tournamant Selection process.

Maine freshman right wing John Parker’s third goal in his last five games represented the only scoring in the first period.

BU attempted 74 shots but the Bears blocked 20 of them and two of Maine’s top offensive threats, Spencer Abbott and Adam Shemansky, hustled back to the crease area to make critical clears in the third period with the puck resting in front of an empty net as BU pressed for an equalizer.

“We need them to score for us but we also need them to play team defense and that’s what they did tonight,” said Mangene. “That’s how we’ve kept on winning.”

BU coach Jack Parker said he was “extremely happy” with the way his team played and said both goalies “played great. They deserved to be named the game’s top two stars (Sullivan was chosen the first star by the media and Millan was the second star).

“Maine played hard in front of Sullivan. They blocked a lot of shots,” said Parker. “We attempted 74 shots and scored just one goal,” said Parker, who received a game misconduct toward the end of the game for yelling at the officials.

John Parker gave Maine a well-deserved lead with 6.7 seconds left in a first period completely dominated by the Black Bears, who outshot BU 21-8 thanks to four power-play opportunities compared to BU’s one.

Millan kept the Terriers in the game with 15 of his 21 Grade-A saves on the evening. He finished with 34 stops.

Sullivan had just two Grade-A stops in the first period.

BU turned the tables on Maine in the second period with a dominance fueled by three power-play opportunities. BU outshot Maine 19-6.

Noonan drew the Terriers level when he skated unattended to the top of the crease and tipped Adam Clendening ‘s wrister from the point behind Sullivan.

Parker’s game-opening goal resulted from a wild flurry in front of Millan.

Mark Nemec took a shot and Jon Swavely got a piece of the rebound before the puck squirted out to the right circle and Parker one-timed a rising snap shot through a host of players and over the glove of Millan.

  1. Wow what a great weekend.  Again.  Things looks tight in HEA let’s hope Maine can stay in the top 4.  Teams right behind them have 3-4 games in hand but their remaining HEA schedule is weak save for Lowell.

  2. Congrats to the UM team and coaching staff on a very well deserved sweep on the road against BU!  HUGE, HUGE victories in a very wild and close standings in hockeyeast, then again isnt it always this time of year?   So, give credit to them everyone, even all those haters out there, they got there 4 pts against BU….Ill admit after there 6-2 blowout loss against Merrimack I would of never thought we’d go 4-0-1 in the next 5 games against the top teams, but we did and they deserve some support now!  So, lets go out and support them at home next weekend!   Congrats again Blue!

  3. Unbelievable! Great effort this weekend boys! I loved watching Jack Parker lose his mind at the end of this one.

      1. Talking to a friend this morning who has the package and saw the game on TV.  Parker did get tossed, by Bunyan no less.  Guess the traditional Boston “payroll” isn’t working any more (thank goodness).

      1. So when the team loses Whitehead takes the blame and when the team wins Whitehead doesn’t get the credit.

Maybe you would be good enough to explain why anyone would want to coach at any level of hockey (or any sport for that matter)?

        1. It is excellent that the team is winning.  How suddenly we forget the past five years, when the program has languished.  I’m not convinced that I’m ready to be satisfied having a coach who let a program slowly erode from a national-caliber team to a mediocre program continue to lead the program.  Perhaps he deserves some credit for these wins.  If he does, then I have to wonder what, exactly, he has been doing since 2007.  Maybe he finally realized he wasn’t just going to be allowed to ride the gravy train until retirement.  Time will tell if this is something real or not, but I’m certainly not ready to change my mind yet.

          1. i agree JD200- who in their right minds would want to ever coach at UMAINE if you listen to the few idiots on here and message boards?  Lets see…..Hockey team loses and there are 100 comments from all these no it alls….hockey team wins and we have a few good wishes….Football team loses or has kid in trouble..FIRE COACH NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!  Football team has best year ever an no support…..Baseball team has an off year, GET RID OF EM ALL!!!BRING BACK WINK!! Baseball team makes national noise, get a national press for a player…crickets……..
I have never seen fans like this in any sport at ANY level..
Ok, next we will have DROP ALL SPOTS at UMAINE NOW!!!!   It happens, and 1 year later, BRING ALL SPPORTS TO BCS LEVEL NOW!!!! never satisfied..I really think people are becoming numb to the complaining…at least i am..Go Black Bears in All SPORTS, through good and bad!

          2. ya know, something else..the guy Nostra is the only one here that treats this like sports radio talk….he gives his opinions, does not call for heads to roll, and only one when wrong admits it….although is delivery ticks many off, he at least admits when he is wrong…and yes, Bear94, the head coach should get credit for EVERYTHING around a program..wins, losses, players in NHL, players in trouble…that is the job….U just look like an a-hole if you dont take the good with the bad as a fan…actually looks like a competitors fan instead..

          3. Bangor, with that formula of being responsible for everything you make a great case that Whitehead should not be in control of this program.  Look at his record.  Look at the trends over the last 10 years.  Look at the players that got in trouble with the law.  Look at how we have had a drop of NHL caliber players since grant left.  Look at how teams like Providence and other lower tier teams have draft picks coming in, and none of our recruits are of that quality.  Believe me Bangor, I am tickled pink to see Jack Parker lose his bananas at the end of last nights game over the Maine win.  In fact, it put me in a fabulous mood today.  I will repeat this again for all that are listening, these four wins are great, fantastic, excellent, pick your adjective, but that doesn’t change anything about his coach.  The players have overcome the adversity of having a poor coach to take upon themselves to win games.  That, I am glad to see.

          4. You’re making an EMOTIONAL argument, so I’m guessing that you are either very close personally to Timmay, or very young.  Either way, you’re not going to get any love on this site, because the posters understand what’s going on up in Orono.

The numbers are what count, and they don’t lie.  Last 5 seasons:

            76-77-20  overall, .497 winning %
3-25-3 on the road vs BC BU UNH since 2005-06, .145 winning %
            0 HEA season titles
1 HEA tourney title, 7 years ago
            0 national championships

Clearly, the hockey program needs a change from top to bottom.

          5. People like Shwan Walsh, Dave Hakstol, Dean Blais and Jeff Jackson WANT a rabid and knowledgable fan base.  Wild fans create an atmosphere that can help a team win.
People who already understand this do not need to  be told.  People like you will never understand, so I think I am just wasting key strokes.

          6. Good Grief! This team  has come together since Jan 7 at Fenway and showed Championship Grit and Discipline. They swept the top two Teams in HE. Lets enjoy that and celebrate the teams efforts. Enough already with the Bash the Coach campaign. This is the toughest Conference in D-1 Hockey. And this team has pulled together to give the fans some of the most exciting victories we have seen. Go Blackbears!!!!!!!!!!

          7. So let me see if I get your reasoning.Because you had the good fortune to enjoy BlackBear Hockey in the long run the current Team cannot be lauded for what they just achieved. HMMMMMMMMMM.  I would expect that kind of sour grapes from a BU site.
            regards

          8. I’m just disagreeing with you that we’re seeing “the most exciting victories we have seen.”  Not sure how that becomes “the current Team cannot be lauded for what they just achieved.”  Me thinks your calculus is a little off.  And stop using my Good Grief’s.  Thank you.

          9. I really don’t employ any calculus when I go to the games I try to gauge the energy and effort the players bring to the rink. I could have stated it better but My intent was to differentiate  the play of the teams in those last 4 games as exceptional and I think you might agree that the players went all out in the last 4 game sand made very few mistakes and as  you might agree there was a lot of “Doomsaying”  early in the month about this team. I’m delighted in the way the team delivered. The Coach is responsible for consistently motivating the players against whichever team they face. You may also suspect I’m a little indifferent about TW. He has an emplyoment contract  with the State of Maine and unlike York and Parker he probably will never be fired .The University would have a huge challenge to buy him out. All that said I think the effort to get rid of him through this web site is futile. The Alums are probably the only lever available to move him out. That was how Jerry York got his job many wins ago. I salute the Players and the Coaching decision is way above my Pay Grade.
            Best regards

          10. yep, but refusing to pay into whitehead’s pocket by refusing to buy tickets until he is gone is right even with many people’s paygrade, and there are more of us than there are of him.

        2. There have been many more disappointments then great moments in the past few years.

The apologists on here sound like a few wins erases the last 6 years or so…..wow, are you that easy to please?

          1. so, I can beat my wife, cheat on her, get the clap, give it to her, have sex with the underage babysitter, and it will ALL be forgiven if I buy my wife a dozen red roses.
            I like it!

          2. You should never admit in writing that you’ve committed all the above sins. Don’t write when you can speak, don’t speak when you can wink, don’t wink when you can nod!  and no,  a dozen roses  will not give you redemption!

          3. ok…now we are talking losing hockey games to wife beating….proves my point about becoming numb to the stupid and idiotic “fans” on here…tyler, my man, u need to take a hard look at yourself…that could have been the dumbest thing to write on here yet

          4. if you find it dumb, you completely miss the point.
my point (and I am not sure I should even bother), is that 4 wins do not erase the dismal history… just as a dozen roses should not erase all of the fabricated history I just wrote down.
many people are accepting the bouquet of roses and forgetting the past

      2. Right on, JG.  The apologists are allowing Timmy NOT to develop players.  There is not a single player on this year’s roster who will EVER sniff the inside of an NHL locker room.  And the ones who used to have a chance (Hegarty, Ouelette and Pryor) have had all hockey sense coached right out of them.

  4. congrats to maine players for an unbelievable weekend… although i dont think abbott  helped his hobey chances very much in these 2 games..nor will i change my mind on Whitehead….

  5. You say Maine Black Bears, you’ve said it all! A huge leap up the ladder towards what is hopefully a very successful season and postseason!
Sully stood on his head and should be the H.E player of the week. Great team effort Blue! Enjoy a hard fought January record, but keep improving and do not take your foot off the accelerator!
Hey BDN, this should be front page news in Monday’s paper don’t you think……!

  6. Congrats to a great Team Victory . These kids now know they can compete wiyh anyone. It was particularly fitting to see last night that they also got “Jackie” booted. He abused the refs all weekend and finally one of them was able to send him away.Sweet Bein there! The total team effort in these last four games has been a highlight of my fan experience.GO BLACKBEARS!

  7. Where are all the Whitehead haters now?  I do think that he might possibly have a little something to do with the four game sweep of the team Bostons recently.  All you armchair coaches out there it’s time to think outside your little box and see the big picture for a change.

    1. Question:  If Whitehead is responsible for the winning, are you saying he is also responsible for the losing?  Yes or No.

Here’s the big picture: 3-25-3 on the road vs BC BU UNH since the 2005-06 season. 0 HEA regular season titles, 1 HEA tournament title SEVEN years ago. 0 national championships.

4 wins against BC BU are awesome, of course. But since when is Maine satisfied with that. Was a day we expected to get 3 of 4 everytime we played anyone and we did.

    2. Right now is the time to congratulate the team and to perhaps note that even though Maine was winning, they continued their forecheck.  (something new) and Timmy had the boys play  few different defensive styles during the weekend sweep, (also something new).  So it appears that he is allowing himself to try different things.  That is good.  But please don’t tell any of us that what he had done for the past 6 years is ok, we know better. Looking at the rest of the schedule, I would say that only a single loss should be acceptable.  Only Lowell should beat Maine the rest of the way.  NU, PC, Huntsville & Umass are all terrible.
Sullivan is to congratulated for covering pucks and steering rebounds to the corners, along with the whole team who allowed him to see shots for the last two weeks.

    3. I echo BBear 94’s statement.
Yeah, 2 good weekends somehow erase the years of tremendous disappointment in your eyes?Talk to me when he actually does something with this team…final four at least.

  8. Amazing how the cheerleaders are quick to forget 4 years of misery based on 2 good weekends. BC is not as strong this year and BU lost 2 of its best players in December and had a couple of others out last night. Let’s wait and look at the “body of work” and see where they are at the end of the season.  I hope you would all agree that the measurement should be whether the team makes the NCAA tournament. If they don’t, TW goes.

    1. Making the NCAA is not enough, in my mind, to erase the last 5 years.  This team needs to make the Final Four if I’m the AD, or I pull the trigger on Timmay.

  9. TIM WHITEHEAD IS A GREAT COACH ALL YA HATERS NEED TO STOP! Its rude and annoying. You obviously aren’t true fans if can’t appreciate a AMAZING win and HUGE back to back sweeps. The players are proud of themselves and their coach why can’t the fans do the same. ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS HATERS GONNA HATE. GOO BLUEEE!!!

      1. No. He is great as a DI coach. Maine was the first Hockey East team to sweep BU this year. I’d like to see you coach a team to back to back sweeps. This team has accomplished so much this year and they are only getting started. Just wait.
PS: If you’re going to hate on Coach Whitehead back it up with some facts. AND I’m not talking about previous year facts this year and this year only.

        1. this year only?!?! you don’t measure how good a coach is by ONE year. THAT IS ABSURD. Congrats to Tim for actually coaching the last few weeks. I still think he may need to go, but if he continues I have no problem waiting and seeing what he can do. Any person who has thought Whitehead would go would LOVE nothing more than to eat their own words at the END of the season, not four games. However again I love seeing this play and I hope Tim and the team keep it up!

        2. Why would you limit the “facts” to the last four games?  Did you really mean to write that?  The facts are pretty simple.  Just take a look at the team’s record, the championships won, and the NCAA tournament appearances over the last five years.  Very, very simple.

        3. Maine did not sweep BU this season.  They got crushed 5-1 on December 10th.  On national television.

Maine didn’t sweep BC either. They also lost to them 5-1 on November 4th.

        4. here are some facts… other D1 coaches will have sent kids off to the NHL at the end of THIS season.
AND Other coaches will take their teams a lot farther into the playoffs than Timmy the Great

  10. Hey Larry, how about revisiting your poll question at the start of the month? I’ll go first: I predicted Maine would go 2-6 I believe. Its never felt better to be so wrong. I also added that if Maine could go 0-8 w/out Whitehead vs 8-0 w/ Whitehead, I’d pick the former.  I reserve the right to change my mind in the future, but for now, two weekends does not a career make.

  11. Great wins for all of UM! Hoops sweep Binghamton in front of a good crowd and the Timmytots sweep BU.

  12. It is GREAT to see a Maine sweep of BU on the road.  But I find it staggering to see how many Tim Whitehead fans have come out of the woodwork.  It seems to be the casual fan who lives in the moment, and has blinders on about how he has brought this once proud program to the point where people are trying to steer promising players away from Maine due to the way he runs this program.  Four great wins do not erase a gradual decline over 10 years.

Let’s be honest, and this is where the casual fan doesn’t reflect upon, how is this team going to be any better than last year’s team that had Gustav Nyquist?  He is an AHL all-star this year.  And for me, that was what broke the camel’s back for me on Whitehead.  We finally moved beyond the “young team” excuse last year, and it was going to be the year that we were back.  But, inconsistency and the dreaded “not playing 60 minutes” doomed that team.  All of that lies at the coach’s feet.  I was a strong supporter of Whitehead until the end of last season.

My feeling on these wins?  The players are tired of looking like the ones to blame for this mess.  They finally got their business together, and won’t be saddled with Tim’s shortcomings.  Good for them.  They make us proud.

    1. I remember the end of John Ronan’s career at Maine when the captains and upper classmen all got together and decided to play their game and to ignore what coach was telling them.

    2. Well honestly for this “casual” fan of 27+ years your question is an easy one to answer. First and foremost, a huge difference between last year’s team and this year’s is consistent goaltending. Last year (with 2 young -freshman- goaltenders) they could not hold a lead much longer than it would take the opponent to skate the length of the ice. This year is a different story as Sully is building on his experience and getting stronger with each game. A team that has confidence in the guy behind them between the pipes, plays with confidence, aggresiveness, and with less restraint.
Regarding #89 from last year, he was a tremendous hockey player. However, I believe that sometimes when a team has one standout like that they tend to rely too heavily on that individual and concentrate a little less on team effort and the team concept. This year’s TEAM has a chemistry that even the casual fan can see evolving from week to week. Every player is contributing and growing stronger in their roles with each game played. They have now proven that they can play with one of the best in the country in hostile territory and come away winners if they stick together and play with passion.
One final thought for comparison is that the freshman and sophomores have become huge contributors to their success during this stretch run! Also, a couple of Maine boys are making themselves very valuable to this team. Someone in the coaching staff is making some pretty darn good recruiting decisions as most if not all of these underclassmen are taking it to the next level…..
We can also look forward to having a Swavely duo next year as Jon’s younger (but bigger) brother has committed to join on and fight for our Black Bear’s….
These are just my honest opinions as a casual fan. Thanks.

  13. I agree that two great w/e’s does not make a season. Certainly enjoyed it to no end but with 9 games left this team needs to keep the momentum and take 6 of the last 9 games. I certainly was on the get rid of Timmay group as 4 yrs w/ out an NCAA appearance is not UMaine hockey is all about. But if Timmay can lead us to the promise land and then I’ll keep on my season tickets for another year.
GO BLUE, Dan Sullivan looks like a  legit #1 goalie, could not have come at a better time.

  14. Its funny most weeks you see the same folks posting about Maine hockey. Now that Maine has had some success folks are coming out of the woodwork aka jumping on the bandwagon. The folks that post after most games are at every game regardless of wins and losses, its the bandwagoneers that only show up after victories. Tell me who are the real fans??

    1. Maybe a real fan just bought an ipad 6 months ago and decided a couple of months ago that it was time to try this posting thing after becoming sick and tired of reading all of the negative comments………:)

    2. Real fans?  Maybe us real fans got tired of wading through all of the doom and gloom reagrdless of what happened for the games in question.

  15. whitehead DESERVES an extension!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. I said that the weekend against BC was going to be a bloodbath in BC’s favor……..wrong

I said that I would be extremely pleased with a split at BU………underestimation

This team certainly has proven this observer wrong the past two weekends………never been happier to be wrong, that’s for sure.  This coming weekend will present a very different challenge for this team.  I don’t think that this team is yet in the position to take ANYTHING for granted.  We need to keep piling up wins.  20 wins is certainly within reach for this team if they sweep this coming weekend.

  17. White head deserves an extension? For what?  Better recognize that this season is far from over and we haven’t made the playoffs let alone the Frozen Four. Better wait and see. I’d say the best bet is to extend the contract of the person coaching the Black Bears. Hummm I wonder?
Too many good ideas in a short span of time. Not typical. Doesn’t that make anyone think?

  18. Taking a look at who this team has lost to this year:
    Merrimack twice
    UML twice
    at North Dakota
    at BC
    at UNH
    vs. BU

Could it be that the only BAD loss is to UNH considering the other team’s records this year?

    1. depends on your definition of bad loss i guess. Certainly all the others were to teams who are doing well, but losing twice to UML at the Alfond given they could’ve won both those games is at least borderline bad losses. However I will give you the others for sure.

  19. Despite the troubles, this TEAM deserves credit for their great effort and skills to pull off the weekend sweep of BU.  Keep up the intensity with discipline – Go BLUE!

  20. Seniors  – great two weekends – way to show leadership – its always kind of funny how it works out – knowing that your in your final year – you somehow dig deep — and in spite of all the “crap” you’ve taken for four years — you play for team and self pride. Congrats boys
