BERWICK, Maine — A 31-year-old Berwick man was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia Wednesday afternoon.
Berwick Detective Bill Russell said a call was received by a concerned resident on Merriam Street indicating an unknown man was walking around an abandoned house and a blue car was idling on the street in front of the house.
When police went to the abandoned house, they found Heather Hogdon, 30, of Berwick sitting in the driver seat of the vehicle. Upon questioning her and viewing her license, police arrested and charged Hogdon with operating after suspension and possessing a suspended license.
Police then allegedly found a “rock” of crack cocaine and a hypodermic needle in the passenger seat of the vehicle. The man walking around the abandoned house, identified as Anthony Scridano, 31, of Berwick, admitted to owning the items.
Scridano was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class C felony crime because of his prior drug convictions.
Scridano will appear in York County Superior Court on April 9 and Hogdon will appear in York District Court on April 10.
