HOPE MILLS, N.C. — North Carolina authorities say they used a stun gun on a woman motorist who blocked a McDonald’s drive-thru for 20 minutes after employees refused to serve her because she cut in line.
Authorities say 37-year-old Evangeline Lucca bypassed the order screen and line and pulled directly up to the pick-up window Friday afternoon at the restaurant in Hope Mills, about 60 miles south of Raleigh.
Cumberland County sheriff’s spokeswoman Debbie Tanner told The Fayetteville Observer that the woman had her 3-year-old daughter in the car when she became confrontational with the workers before deputies arrived.
Tanna says Lucca was subsequently shocked by deputies and charged with second-degree trespass. A phone listing for the woman couldn’t be found.
Authorities say the woman’s daughter was taken into protective custody.

About two months ago, I was waiting my turn at Charlie’s Car Wash in Augusta. An aggressive and loud-mouth B…., I mean, Lady, came out of nowhere and drove to the front of the line.
She got out of her Jeep to look at a vehicle that was for sale. I pulled up and put my car in front of hers to take my turn. She was outraged! I informed her that she had pulled in front of about a dozen cars and pointed at the line she went around. She said she didn’t care and she was going to be next! She called me everything in the book, and then seeing that wasn’t going to cut it, she said “Chivelry is Dead.” I responded “I didn’t even know he was sick!” I let the next two cars go ahead of me before I took my turn. She put on a heck of a show but got no sympathy from anyone.
Could I have just let her go? Absolutely. But I dislike it when people use assertive behavior and bullying to try to get their way. Next time, get in line like everyone else.
If i had witnessed that, I would have gotten out and given you a standing ovation!!!!!!

I think they could probably have gotten her to cooperate without using a stun gun on her in front of her 3 year old daughter, who is likely quite traumatized by the whole ordeal. It is the Mom’s fault for being dumb…but it’s the innocent 3 year old who was harmed the most, I’m sure.

I kind of wonder who she is going to sue? but no I can not see anything wrong with what the police did this time. Even police do the right thing much of the time which is why I get upset when they do the wrong thing. When you have to power to kill you also have to have your ego in check as well. Sometimes you get police who are just bullies and I like to see that type fired. But as long as they are doing their job, doing what is necessary for the situation, I am not going to be the least upset with them, for that is why we have them.

It can be argued that the 3 year old won’t remember this with time, but her mother setting an example like this, raising her to adulthood with more of that attitude, will have a far more reaching negative effect on her.

Have you ever had to deal with cranky hungry a three-year-old? If so then you know what this mother faced. Sure she could have moderated, BUT the response was akin to using a nuclear bomb to clear an occupy demonstration.
I also have a question about the charge of trespassing. A good lawyer (and maybe even a not-so-good lawyer) will make mincemeat out of that.
