NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. — Courtney Cochran tallied 19 points and 10 rebounds for the University of Southern Maine as head coach Gary Fifield notched his 600th career victory with a 75-71 women’s baskektball win over the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth Saturday.
Haley Jordan led the 20-5 Huskies with 20 points. Nicole Garland chipped in with 12 points and nine rebounds.
The Corsairs (15-10) were paced by Stephanie Houtman with 22 points.
UMFK wins two
At Chestnut Hill, Mass. on Sunday, Ericka Christensen scored a game-high 26 points and had 14 rebounds to lead the University of Maine at Fort Kent by Pine Manor College 72-65 on Sunday at Chestnut Hill, Mass., after UMFK beat New Hampshire Tech 87-56 on Friday.
Megan Land tallied 18 points for the 11-12 Lady Bengals while Maliesha Caesar added 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Phibe Pham, Therline Dumeran and Paulette Wright each scored 16 points to pace 8-16 Pine Manor.
On Friday, Jenn Colpitts netted 15 points for UMFK. Christensen posted 14 points, Megan Land scored 13 and Quintina Young added 12.
Sara Romano led NHTI (19-10) with a game-high 22 points.
Husson 80, Lyndon 77
At Bangor on Saturday, Briana Hanscom led five Husson University scorers in double figures with 20 points as the Eagles topped Lyndon State College.
Marissa Albert and Amanda Gifford each scored 16 points for 15-3 Husson. Stephanie Comstock posted 13 points while Kelli Murray scored 11.
Donna Lawson paced 7-11 Lyndon State with 26 points and 14 rebounds.
UMF 81, Thomas 47
At Farmington on Saturday, the University of Maine at Farmington started the second half with a 17-0 run en route to the win over Thomas College.
Emma Morrison netted 23 points to spark the 10-14 Beavers. Kenni Norton posted 11 points and Lindsay Ranquist scored 10.
Kate Thibodeau scored 10 points to pace the 5-19 Terriers.
Colby 61, Williams 59
At Waterville on Saturday, Jayde Bennett scored a team-high 13 points off the bench, including three free throws in the final minute, to lead fourth-seeded Colby College by fifth-seeded Williams College in a NESCAC quarterfinal.
The Mules will head to play top-seeded Amherst College in a conference semifinal at noon on Saturday.
Aarika Ritchie tossed in 12 points for the 19-6 Mules. Rachael Mack pitched in with 11 points.
Williams (19-6) was led by Danny Rainer with 19 points.
Bowdoin 53, Wesleyan 37
At Brunswick on Saturday, Jill Henrikson scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Bowdoin College by Wesleyan University in a NESCAC quarterfinal.
The third-seeded Polar Bears (19-6) advance to the semifinals and will face Tufts University at Amherst College on Saturday.
Eileen Gaffney scored nine points to lead 14-8 Wesleyan.
MMA 68, Johnson St. 60
At Castine on Saturday, Bekah Campbell collected 17 points and nine rebounds to propel Maine Maritime Academy by Johnson State College.
Maggie Smith tossed in 16 points for the 13-12 Mariners. Leach Jackson added nine points and 12 rebounds.
Andrea Deuell scored a game-high 16 points for 4-21 Johnson State.
UNE 76, W. New Engl. 52
At Biddeford on Saturday, Margo Russell poured in 25 points to lead the University of New England by Western New England University in the regular-season finale.
The top-seeded Nor’easters (21-4) will host No. 8 Nichols College in the CCC quarterfinals on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Beth Suggs registered 18 points for the Nor’easters. Lauren Rousseau contributed 12 points.
Emily Savino paced 13-12 Western New England with 11 points.

Maine 2, New Hampshire 1
At Alfond Arena in Orono, Sunday, Melissa Gagnon notched what proved to be the game-winning goal with 10:35 left in the second period as the University of Maine ended its regular season with a victory over the University of New Hampshire.
Kelly McDonald netted the first goal for the Black Bears (17-10-6) 1:47 into the game. Brittany Ott finished with 25 saves to notch her thirteenth victory.
Kristina Lavoie scored the lone goal for New Hampshire (10-21-3) late in the first period. Jenn Gilligan made 29 saves on 31 shots.
Men’s basketball
Thomas 83, UMF 77 (OT)
At Farmington on Saturday, Franklin Salvador netted a game-high 26 points, including six 3-pointers, as Thomas College ended its regular season with an overtime victory over the University of Maine at Farmington.
Jarrad DeVaughn chipped in with 21 points for the 14-10 Terriers. Stanley Greene Jr. scored 16 points while Martin Cleveland added 12 points.
Pet Sumner tallied 24 points to pace the 15-10 Beavers. Kevin Leary scored a career-high 21 points with six threes and Ben Johnson posted 12 points.
UMFK 85, NHTI 77
At Concord, N.H. on Friday, Manny Odugbela scored 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to power the University of Maine at Fort Kent by New Hampshire Technical Institute.
Othniel Hyliger posted 14 points for the 17-7 Bengals. Pablo Llamas chipped in with 13.
Besfort Syla paced 23-12 NHTI with 15 points.
Johnson St. 60, MMA 50
At Castine on Saturday, Johnson State used a 13-2 run in the final six minutes of the game to hold off Maine Maritime Academy for the win.
Scott Moran led Johnson State (6-19) with 11 points. Andy Bousono added 10.
The Mariners (2-22) were paced by Brandon Theriault with 16 points. Andy Ball pitched in with 15 points.
Wesleyan 78, Bowdoin 59
At Middletown, Conn. on Saturday, Shasha Brown led four Wesleyan University scorers in double figures with 21 points as the Cardinals defeated Bowdoin College in a NESCAC quarterfinal.
Mike Callaghan contributed 18 points for the 20-5 Cardinals.
Will Hanley scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Polar Bears (17-8). Ryan O’Connell also netted 22 points.
Bates 57, Tufts 54
At Medford, Mass. on Saturday, John Squires tied a career high with 25 points and hauled in 13 rebounds to propel Bates College by Tufts University in a NESCAC quarterfinal.
The Bobcats (13-12) will travel to play top-seeded Amherst in the conference semifinals on Saturday.
Ben Ferris scored 11 points to pace the Jumbos (16-9).
Al.-Magnus 62, St. Joe’s 75
At New Haven, Conn. on Saturday, Ray Askew registered 22 points to lead Albertus Magnus College by Saint Joseph’s College in the regular season finale.
The Falcons (24-1) secure the top seed in the upcoming GNAC tournament.
The second-seeded Monks (17-8) are set to host No. 7 Mount Ida College at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Zach O’Brien led the Monks with a game-high 26 points. Matt Medeiros chipped in with 12.
W. New Engl. 57, UNE 47
At Biddeford on Saturday, Damon Alston and Andre Shaw combined for 37 points as Western New England University topped the University of New England in the regular-season finale.
Alston finished with a game-high 22 points to lead the 9-16 Golden Bears.
Charles Fenner paced the Nor’easters (6-19) with 12 points. Marcus Winn pitched in with 11 points.
UMass Dartmouth 84, USM 69
At North Dartmouth, Mass. on Saturday, Justin Pulver registered a game-high 25 points to lead the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth by the University of Southern Maine.
Lance Greene contributed 15 points and 16 rebounds for the 13-12 Corsairs.
Jeremy Jackson recorded his eighth double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds for the 11-14 Huskies. Alex Kee added 14 points.
