SULLIVAN, Maine — A Hancock County man was injured Sunday while riding with a group racing ATVs on a frozen pond.
The man was among several people riding ATVs equipped with spiked tires who were racing around an ice track laid out on Flanders Pond in Sullivan. Game Warden Dave Simmons said that sometime before noon Sunday, the man, whom he identified only as a 26-year-old resident of Hancock, lost control of his ATV and slid into a parked truck.
The rider appears to have suffered a broken leg in the crash. He was taken to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital in Ellsworth for treatment.

Why is this news?
Because B.D.N. wants all the bad press it can get on A.T.V.s and snowmobiles.
ATV’s, snowmobiles and hunting stories cause the couch potatoes to work themselves up into a froth commenting about how dangerous and irreponsible these activities are.
Personally I think they’re just jealous and feel sorry about their own mundane lifestyles.
I hope that it’s nothing more serious than the broken leg! Sending positive thoughts his way!
A dull winter outdoors, and a slow day at the BDN news desk.
I hope that this person heals quickly.
