WARREN, Maine — A veteran selectman has asked for a recount after the initial vote tally Monday night showed he lost his re-election bid by four votes.
Wayne Luce requested the recount Tuesday. The recount has been scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday at the town office.
The initial tally had Michael York, a member of the planning board, defeating Luce 177-173.
Luce has served two three-year terms on the Board of Selectmen.
In the other race Monday, Ed LaFlamme defeated incumbent Christine Wakely 181-169.
York had said the town needed a strong board to counter a strong town manager. Luce said he wanted to see the completion of some unfinished town projects such as the cleanup of the former rifle range property.
