GORHAM, Maine — Another suspicious fire in Gorham destroyed a two-car garage over the weekend.

The fire, which broke out on Buck Street at about 4 p.m. Sunday, is the fourth suspicious fire in town in the last two weeks, Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said in a release.

McCausland said the state fire marshal’s office has not determined a cause pending an examination of the rubble by an electrical inspector Tuesday.

The fire flattened the garage, which was located next to a house, and a pickup truck inside the garage was destroyed. The homeowner was not home at the time of the fire, the release stated.

Investigators are asking anyone who saw any activity around Buck Street Sunday afternoon to contact them through the Gorham Police Department at 839-5581 or the fire marshal’s office in Augusta at 624-7076.

  1. A decent game camera can be purchased at Cabella’s for aound $100.00. Hide one on your property with a sign warning of it’s presence and you’ll more than likely not be the next home set  on fire. If enough people do the same this person will be caught or move his operations elsewhere.

  2. Juneau Alaska has a 7 year old pryromaniac who was caught with 5 fires in the last 4 months.  Keep an eye on the little ones.  Two fires I ‘ve responded to were set by kids playing with matches, and on one of the fires, they went and hid.  Guess what job the medics got.
