BANGOR, Maine — Three men arrested earlier this week remained jailed Wednesday at the Penobscot County Jail unable to post bail after making their first court appearances earlier in the day.

District Court Judge Gregory Campbell set bail at $25,000 cash each for Dylan Colvin, 19, of Orrington, Scott Macomber, 44, of LaGrange and Adam Freeman, 25, of Bangor, according to the Penobscot County district attorney’s office.

Colvin was arrested Monday night by Bangor police after allegedly stealing a car, then leading police on a high-speed chase before crashing that vehicle and stealing another.

Colvin was charged with two counts of theft, operating under the influence and eluding an officer, all Class C felonies. Colvin did not enter pleas to those charges Wednesday but did plead not guilty to charges related to a convenience store burglary earlier this year.

He was indicted by the Penobscot County grand jury in April for burglary and theft by unauthorized taking in connection with a February break-in in Carmel.

If convicted, Colvin faces up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000 on each charge in both cases.

Macomber and Freeman were arrested early Sunday morning after a 33-year-old Bangor man reported that he had been choked from behind until unconscious, robbed of his cash and cellphone and dumped on the side of the road.

The two defendants were charged with robbery, a Class B crime. If convicted, each faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $20,000.

All three men are due back in court in July, according to the district attorney’s office.

  1. Finally, We have a judge setting a proper bail. $25,000 ought to hold’em for a while.  I knew Gregg Campbell would make a great judge.

  2. Can you imagine their conversation during lunch over bologna and cheese?  Hey dude, what’d you do?  Thank god they’re putting the bail price higher.

      1. Wouldn’t argue with that. These three muskateers should get a one-way ticket on Greyhound to visit Arizona and spend a little time with Sheriff Joe Arpaio. His jail is so crowded down there….a lot of them get to sleep underneath a big ole’ tent outside. That’ll whither a piece of bologna in no time, eat it fast. Last time I saw him on a documentary, the inmates were complaining about the bologna…..it was “gray.” Granted, they all had neck tatoos and were ignorant, but Bangor is too nice of a place to get infiltrated with this trash.
