WAITE – Bernyce Emily Crowe, 77, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012, at her home with her family by her side. Bernyce was born Jan. 8, 1935, in Lambert Lake, daughter of Willis and Effie (Trask) Grass.
She attended the Lambert Lake area schools and married Merlyn L. Crowe March 9, 1952. Bernyce raised her eight children and enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, canning, bird watching and gardening. Her most cherished moments were those spent with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Merlyn; three daughters, Jeanette Williams, Jo-Ann Cook and Constance Lockhart; two sisters, Betty and Letha; and a brother, Jack. Surviving are her five children, Brenda Fern and her husband, Joseph, of Shawnee, Kan., Christine Bunker of Bangor, Gerald Crowe and his wife, Robin, of Waite, Jeffrey Crowe and his wife, Terri Lynn, of Cooper and Timothy Crowe and his wife, Diane, of Waite; 20 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Bernyce’s life will be held noon Tuesday, June 26, at her home on Crowe Hill. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais and Eastport. Condolences and memories may be shared at
