CAMDEN, Maine — Police say new measures at a frequently robbed Rite Aid stopped a man from getting away with stolen drugs Saturday.
A man in a hooded sweatshirt with a bandana covering his face walked into the pharmacy and demanded drugs on Saturday, according to Detective Curt Andrick at Camden Police Department.
“Due to the enhanced security measures already in place at Rite Aid, the suspect was not able to obtain any drugs at that time,” Andrick said.
The Elm Street store has been robbed several other times in the past year.
The man left the Route 1 storefront on foot and is still on the loose. Police are asking for help from the public finding the 30-40 year old man who is about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, according to police. Witnesses told police he was wearing jeans and work boots.
