ROCKLAND, Maine — Police officers were scouring the North End of the city Tuesday afternoon for a man who is reported to have robbed a local pharmacy.
The report came in at 3:15 p.m. at Jensen’s Pharmacy located in the Breakwater Marketplace on Camden Street.
Four Rockland cruisers arrived within three minutes of the initial call. The Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Maine State Police and Maine Drug Enforcement Agency also arrived shortly after the robbery was reported.
Officers went inside the pharmacy while at least two went down toward the waterfront where the suspect was seen leaving on foot.
The man is reported to be about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, wearing a suit, rust-colored shirt and a white fedora with a stripe, according to Rockland Deputy Police Chief Wally Tower. The man gave a note to one of the employees demanding drugs and left with some drugs, Tower said.
A police canine arrived shortly after 4 p.m.
Rockport police were by the town line, assisting in the search for the suspect.
This is the latest in a series of pharmacy robberies in the state and midcoast area.

You would think something would have been done by now to stop this. I mean there are only 224 pharmacies in the state of Maine. That is not a lot of ground to cover.

And that was only about 3 1/2 minutes too late to do much of anything about it. The police do the very best that they can, but there are not enough of them to watch all of us, all of the time.
“We” are responsible for our own protection, and if the drug stores want to stop these robberies, “They” have to do something different. Giving Oxy’s to whoever walks in the door and hands them a note………..ain’t working!

Wow its so easy to get drugs and /or money these days, all you got to know is how to write a note saying you want some. How ridiculous is that.
