DURHAM – Katherine “Katie” Ruth Lane, 62, died unexpectedly Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012. She was born Oct. 8, 1949, in Millinocket, a daughter of Ruth (Jewell) and Richard Angotti.
She was educated in Millinocket schools and graduated from Stearns High School. Throughout the years Katie worked as an administration assistant, a self-employed CAD operator and later was employed by the town of Freeport. Katie loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. She was president of Durham Rod and Gun Club for two years and did volunteer work with Maine Fisheries and assisted in the Boater Safety Program. She also loved dogs and at one time showed “Shelties.” Katie will be remembered for her positive attitude and thoughtfulness and will be greatly missed.
Katie is survived by her life partner, Henry Sydlowski of Durham; two daughters, Amy Baker of Portland and Raquel Baker of East Millinocket; brother, Donald Holland and wife, Carolyn, of Millinocket; sister, Bonnie Roix and husband, Gary, of Winterville, N.C.; brother, Richard Angotti Jr. and wife, Brenda, of Millinocket; brother, Rodney Angotti and wife, Ada, of Millinocket; sister, Roxanne Bosse and husband, Michael, of Boone, N.C.; sister, Robin Angotti of Seattle; as well as a large extended family of nieces and nephews.
A time of gathering and reception will be held noon-1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at Lindquist Funeral Home, One Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth, where a memorial service will begin 1 p.m. Burial will be after at Forest City Cemetery, South Portland.
