BANGOR, Maine — The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency on Wednesday arrested a Bangor man and a man from New York on felony drug trafficking charges after a surveillance operation on Bolling Drive.

Jeramie Schell, 35, of Bangor was charged with felony trafficking in oxycodone and unrelated arrest warrants, Darrell Crandall, MDEA division commander, said in a news release issued late Thursday afternoon. Crandall said the trafficking charge against Schell is a Class B felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $20,000.

Dereck Ntim, 25, of the Bronx, N.Y., was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, a Class A felony. If convicted, Ntim could face up to 30 years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000.

Crandall said the two men were arrested by MDEA agents who were conducting a surveillance operation near 15 Bolling Drive in Bangor. The agents were looking for Schell.

As part of a criminal investigation, MDEA agents had purchased drugs from Schell last month, Crandall said.

Shortly after 2 p.m., a vehicle pulled into the parking lot of 15 Bolling Drive, Crandall said. Agents watched Schell leave an apartment, walk to the vehicle and talk with the people inside. Agents moved in and took Schell into custody, he said.

The people inside the vehicle were identified as Ntim and a local woman, who was not charged with a crime.

A search of the vehicle turned up 78 oxycodone tablets — valued at $3,100 — and more than $6,500 in cash, which were seized, Crandall said.

Crandall said Ntim and Schell will make their initial appearances at the Penobscot Judicial Center in Bangor in the coming weeks.

The Bangor Police Department assisted with the arrests, Crandall said. He said the Maine attorney general’s office will be prosecuting the case.

Information on drug crimes may be reported to MDEA at 800-452-6457, via the agency’s website at www.maine.gov.dps/mdea or through the MDEA’s smartphone application for iPhone and Android at MyPD.

  1. Isn’t 15 Bolling Dr. part of the City of Bangor’s Parkwoods? If so, time for the Council to become a more responsable landlord and screen their tenants better- if not they may be their own first “disorderly house” as in the proposed ordinance discussed a couple of weeks ago with thinly veiled references to others as being “slumlords” for the same type of activity occurring at their buildings.

    1. Good point, was’nt Bolling Drive where the people who were killed in the triple homicide picked up? This is probably subsidized housing to boot!

  2. Bolling drive is the same place the 3 homicide victims were seen at a party last month.  Is this connected?  Why do 11-30 Bolling drive pay no property taxes?  Is this city owned property?

    1. I googled “15 Bolling Drive” and found a news story listing that address as the party location. It was on the second page of the search results. It could be that MDEA was interested in that address before the homicides.

      1. you’re right that was the address of the party on that night.  The tenants made a point of saying they moved out after night of the party.  So, who moved in? And who is the landlord?  Bangor?

        1.  All I know is that they told the press they moved out. That doesn’t mean they really did move. The landlord might be Bangor Housing Authority.

        2. They still live there at 15 bolling dr… nobody moved anywhere…..  I work at the airport mall and see that scumbag all the time….   my bad..   saw that scumbag all the time

    2. I use to live on the other end of bolling drive . a lot of those buildings are privately owned . and the rent is 850 a month . can you believe that ? way to much for that crappy neighborhood.  its a bad area. still i grew up in jacksonville FL so it was like Disney land to me. bunch of wanna bees up here lol.

    1. Yeah there is and the only thing you need to do is google operation fast and furious and all your information will be buried in those articles. Oh, and remember that time obama promise change, hold on to your seats of he gets reelected.

    2. ya when people cant see a doctor because they have to wait 3 months they will use the black market for watever they need does prohibition ring a bell.

  3. nice to know where our tax dollars are going and that GA houses these people in New Capehart, makes you want to go to work every day ha.

      1. No I understand there are private landlords there I am talking what the city owns and at least 80% of them get their rent paid each month or a good portion of it and that’s a fact!!
