CARIBOU, Maine — The investigation of a weekend armed robbery at a Caribou eatery continued Monday with the police declining to release any further details of the crime or suspect.

On Sunday, the Caribou police issued a statement saying they were looking for an unidentified white male in connection with an armed robbery at Cindy’s Sub Shop on Sweden Street.

The lone white male entered the restaurant around 7:40 p.m. Saturday and left with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to the press release.

The subject is described as approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark bandana and sunglasses. Detailed information on the amount of cash taken or type of weapon has not been released.

Physical evidence left at the scene by the robber is being processed by members the Caribou Police Department, assisted by members of the Presque Isle Police Department’s K-9 unit, the Maine State Police, Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department and the Border Patrol, according to the release.

  1. It does narrow it down to 3500 people but now you put 5’8 into it and that leaves 3-500 give or take a few inches. It doesn’t say if they fled on foot or not which I don’t understand how they would let that detail slip.

  2. If they ever catch him he’ll be in jail for a good porton of his life.  Robbery is one thing but armed robbery is a very serious matter!  Hmmm…I wonder what he left behind.

  3. I live in Caribou and Cindy’s sub shop is near Spring street where a bunch of druggies live. Probably one of them did it as they have been breaking into houses and cars as well.
