BANGOR, Maine — An equipment malfunction knocked out power to about 500 customers in Bangor on Friday morning, but the problem was rectified quickly.

Bangor Hydro-Electric Co. spokeswoman Susan Faloon said the failure occurred on Hildreth Street, but power was restored to people in that neighborhood within 30 minutes.

Faloon said Friday afternoon there were no major weather-related outages to report.
