LEBANON, Maine — A one-story house on Little River Road was damaged by fire on Wednesday morning.

Crews were dispatched to the scene around 6:30 a.m., according to Lebanon Fire Chief Skip Wood.

The house’s six occupants, two adults and four children, managed to get out safely, Wood said.

The fire started in the laundry room of the house, according to Wood, and quick response enabled crews to contain it to that part of the structure. The fire was under control in about a half hour.

The home sustained heavy smoke and water damage but is repairable, Wood said. The family does have insurance, he added.

Crews from Lebanon, North Berwick, Alfred, Sanford and Somersworth responded. Wood said a cause is unclear.
