SACO, Maine — A woman from Brooklyn, N.Y., was charged with assault early Monday morning after a disagreement ended with her striking another woman, police said Wednesday.

Anne Thiwa, 21, was summoned but not arrested by Saco police, according to Deputy Chief Jeffrey Holland. She is scheduled to appear in court on the Class D misdemeanor charge on May 29.

The trouble started when police responded to a reported assault on Gray Avenue, Holland said. Thiwa had gone with the woman to drop another friend off and when the two returned to the Gray Avenue residence where a small party was being held, Thiwa and the woman got into a disagreement in the vehicle.

“She was struck in the face and got a bloody nose,” said Holland.

The woman who was struck did not require any medical attention, the deputy chief said.
