BANGOR, Maine — A Greenbush man was charged Saturday evening with aggravated criminal mischief and criminal trespass after police responded to a possible burglary on York Street.
Robert Davis, 43, of Bradley was said to be acting strangely and was in a garage at a York Street residence, Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said Monday.
Lt. Tom Reagan responded to the scene around 6:30 p.m. and observed Davis in the garage. Reagan attempted to make contact with him, but the suspect’s bizarre behavior hindered the lieutenant’s efforts, according to Edwards.
“He yelled about aliens, he was breaking several things,” said Edwards. “He was completely out of control.”
Believing that Davis was on drugs, Reagan called for an ambulance so the man could be checked out at Eastern Maine Medical Center, Edwards said.
Once Davis was confined to a stretcher, the sergeant said he became calm.
Davis was not arrested but was summoned for aggravated criminal mischief and criminal trespass, Edwards said.
According to Bangor Daily News archives, Davis was arrested in Old Town for operating under the influence in 2009, and arrested again the following day when police found him drinking in his vehicle in an impound lot.
