Brewer police charged a Cherryfield man with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon Wednesday afternoon after he allegedly flashed a firearm at someone on State Street.

Brewer police Sgt. Nelson Feero said area police were asked to be on the lookout for a Honda Pilot and it was spotted in Bangor about an hour later.

Jose Rivera, 32, was charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon after a Bangor police officer spotted the Honda Pilot at the Circle K convenience store on Main Street.

Rivera, who was not arrested, is scheduled to appear at the Penobscot Judicial Center on July 10, Feero said.

Two other men in the SUV were questioned but not charged, Feero said.
