ORONO – Inez (Kolonel) Rudman, 74, died Aug. 1, 2013 at an Oro Valley, Ariz., hospital. She was born July 26, 1939, in Corner Brooke, Newfoundland, Canada, daughter of Arthur and Reta (Marshall) Kolonel.
Inez was a graduate of the University of Maine, class of 1961, had been a schoolteacher in the Bangor School system and was a private reading tutor. She was a member of Phi Mu Fraternity and Penobscot Valley Country Club. Inez will be remembered as a teacher and mother without equal.
Inez is survived by her husband, Paul L. Rudman of Orono; a son, Andrew I. Rudman and his wife, Judith W. Rudman, of Arlington, Va.; a daughter, Carole S. Rudman of Manchester, N.H.; grandsons, Nicholas Arthur Rudman and Nathan Abraham Rudman, both of Arlington, Va.; brothers, Laurence N. Kolonel of Honolulu, Hawaii and Martin T. Kolonel and his wife, Joanne Kolonel, of Grand Junction, Colo. She was predeceased by her parents.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at the Jewish Funeral Chapel, Center Street, Bangor. Interment will be in Beth Israel Cemetery, Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor, after the service Monday.
