BOWDOINHAM, Maine — A woman injured in an accident on Interstate 295 last week has died of her injuries, police said.

Mona Kelley, 56, of Standish died at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, according to Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.

Kelley was heading southbound on Aug. 6 when her car overturned, according to McCausland.

State police had been searching for Kelley’s vehicle after several motorists had reported it was operating erratically, McCausland said.

Kelley, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle after it overturned several times. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.
