LIMINGTON, Maine — The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating an airplane crash that occurred Friday afternoon at Limington Harmon Airport, a spokeswoman for the federal agency confirmed.

The crash occurred about 1:45 p.m. and involved a Cessna 172, FAA spokeswoman Arlene Salac said in a news release issued late Friday afternoon.

Information about the number of people aboard the aircraft and whether there were any injuries as a result of the crash

was not immediately available, Salac said, referring inquiries to local authorities.

Salac said the small aircraft crashed after departure.

A state police dispatcher said local fire crews remained at the crash scene as of 4:30 p.m.
