BANGOR, Maine — A Hampden man is facing multiple charges stemming from a domestic incident at Hollywood Casino earlier this month, police said.

Officers were called to the Main Street establishment at 1:15 a.m. on Nov. 3 for a report of a possible assault involving Jeffrey Sands, 46, according to Sgt. Catherine Rumsey.

Police spoke with the victim and Hollywood Casino employees and learned that Sands had apparently used physical force to take the victim’s car keys and money, Rumsey said. He subsequently fled the scene in the victim’s car.

Officers were unable to locate Sands that night, but he turned himself in at the Bangor police station on Nov. 7, Rumsey said.

Sands was charged with robbery, domestic violence assault and operating a motor vehicle after revocation, the sergeant said.
