PORTLAND, Maine — Portland police and fire personnel were called to the scene of a crash Friday afternoon that involved an unattended vehicle that struck a parked car and a house.
The incident occurred about 2:20 p.m., at the intersection of Stevens and Brighton avenues, Paramedic Timothy Nangle of the Portland Fire Department said Friday evening in a news release.
An unattended car parked in a driveway rolled across Stevens Avenue into a parked car and house at 258 Stephens Ave., Nangle said.
The vehicle struck the house in the area where the building’s electrical service enters, he said, and a Central Maine Power crew was called to the scene to ensure the electrical service was not a hazard.
The house, which had minor damage, was occupied at the time of the crash, but no one was injured, Nangle said.
Traffic was rerouted for a short time as a result of the crash.
Firefighters left the scene shortly before 4 p.m., Nangle said.
Portland police are investigating the cause of the accident.
