WINTERPORT, Maine — A van was destroyed by fire Wednesday and the State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating.
Winterport Fire Chief Thomas Doe said crews were dispatched to a North Main Street residence shortly after 4 p.m.
Doe said the van’s owner had just moved the vehicle and “it ignited for some unknown reasons.”
The van was a total loss but the flames did not reach any other structures, nor was anybody injured, the chief said.
Doe said he doesn’t suspect the fire was suspicious.
