CHARLESTON, Maine — Firefighters from nearly a dozen communities are battling a house fire at 289 Atkinson Road.
The fire was reported shortly after 3 p.m., a Penobscot Regional Communications Center dispatcher said.
At the scene are crews from Charleston, Dover-Foxcroft, Bradford, Lagrange, Alton, Glenburn, Hudson, Corinth, Garland and Sebec. The Hermon and Kenduskeag fire departments are providing standby coverage.
