BRUNSWICK, Maine — A 51-year-old Portland man has been indicted for allegedly robbing the Bank of America branch on Maine Street in October.
Raymond Leavitt was indicted by a Cumberland County grand jury for two counts of robbery.
Brunswick police responded to the branch at approximately 3:20 p.m. Oct. 28 and took Leavitt into custody just outside the front doors.
Deputy Chief Marc Hagan said at the scene that Leavitt “went in with a note stating it was a robbery.” He said Leavitt did not get any money.
Police said at the time, Leavitt did not show a weapon during the robbery attempt, but did have knives in his possession when he was taken into custody.
No further information was immediately available Friday.
