PORTAGE LAKE – Vinal O. Robinson, 77, died peacefully at home surrounded by family, Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013. He was born March 28, 1936, in Masardis, son of the late Owen and Mabel (Gardner) Robinson.
Vinal and his wife worked together for North Maine Woods the past 12 years. This allowed him to do what he loved…be in the woods. He previously was self-employed as a school bus contractor for 35 years.
Vinal is survived by his wife of 38 years, Elizabeth Robinson; children, Pamla and John Butterfield of Carmel, Kendall and Misty Robinson of Masardis, and Jennifer and Terry Curran of Portage; grandchildren, Lee Kelley, Jannet Meister, Ashley and Brooke Robinson; great-grandchildren, Casey, Aspen, Bennett and Keaghan; and very special friends, Ross and Norma Grenier. Besides his parents, Vinal was predeceased by; his first wife, Jannet; unborn child; son, Peter; sisters, Edna and Althea; and brother, Frank.
A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, at Lajoie Funeral Home-Ashland, 114 Exchange St., Ashland. Calling hours will be held 2-4 p.m. Monday, and 10 a.m. until time of service Sunday, Dec. 22, at the funeral home. Spring internment will be held at Masardis Cemetery.
