BANGOR, Maine — A man police arrested on Friday for two outstanding warrants is also facing two drug charges after officers found heroin and bath salts in his possession.
Officers had gone to a Cedar Street residence Friday evening after Christopher Goehringer, 31, had apparently approached the residence’s owner asking him for help, Bangor police Sgt. Cathy Rumsey said.
When Officers Russ Twaddell and David Farrar arrived, they learned that Goehringer had two active warrants for his arrest and took him into custody, the sergeant said.
Upon searching him, the officers found Goehringer had several small baggies containing a powdered substance, Rumsey said.
The powders tested positive for heroin and bath salts, resulting in Goehringer getting charged with two counts of unlawful possession of Schedule W drugs, the sergeant said. He was brought to Penobscot County Jail.
