INDIAN STREAM TOWNSHIP, Maine — A 58-year old Rhode Island man died on Friday after he became trapped under debris from a collapsed roof in Somerset County, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies were summoned to a 23 Bun Russell Road residence shortly after noon when it was reported a man identified as Addison Yeaw was trapped under debris, according to Chief Deputy Dale Lancaster.
According to witnesses, Yeaw was visiting friends in the area and had stopped at the Bun Russell Road residence, Lancaster said. He had entered a garage attached to the home when the roof collapsed, trapping Yeaw under the debris.
Accumulated snow on the roof had caused it to cave in, Lancaster said.
Another man, Glen Coulson, 52, of West Forks, also was pinned under the debris but was able to escape, Lancaster said. His injuries weren’t considered life-threatening.
Yeaw was pronounced dead at the scene, Lancaster said.
