BREWER, Maine — A $22.56 million budget for the Brewer School Department passed its first reading on Monday night in a unanimous vote by the Brewer School Committee.

In its current state, the budget represents a 1.2 percent increase over last year’s budget.

McIntire said the board will meet to review the budget again and look for reductions on the expenditures side on April 14.
